Okay, so right off the bat, I am going to give you an insider detail about The Griddle that may have some people up in arms about the fact that I ruined the experience for you: Order the SHORT STACK of pancakes, not the regular stack. Pancakes at The Griddle are honestly and without exaggeration the size of a large... More

This is strictly a breakfast restaurant so they are only open in the morning but the food is so worth it's limited hours! They serve huge portions so I suggest you come with an empty stomach because you'll be leaving with leftovers! The atmosphere is packed but with great energy and no discomfort for those who are at the table.... More

We've been there many times and mostly can't get past our favorites -- the Eggs Benedict made with potato skins instead of English Muffins and the Breakfast Tacos. Have never been able to finish an order of pancakes -- delicious and incredibly generous portions!

When I lived in Hollywood this was a local spot we would go to for breakfast. It's a very popular spot, especially on the weekends. The menu is equal parts breakfast and lunch. The portions are HUGE. The menu has a great range with items for people who are health conscious to people who enjoy indulging in a richer fare,... More

If you are hungry, head to The Griddle Cafe. Their portions are HUGE. The serve you 3 big pancakes (my favorite is the Banana). You can share it with 2 of your friends. I tried other dishes, which are great in taste and portion.

This place is great fun, particularly on the weekends although there is sometimes a wait for a table on Saturday and Sunday. The portions are huge and the coffee is just great. My favorite is the Cobb Omelet and the pancakes could feed you and several of your friends. All kinds of locals hang out there and it is just... More

This is one of my favorite places in LA. Its a staple any time i have friends or family in town. I ALWAYS get the WholeyMoley and add choc chips. I can never eat 3, so I opt to just get one and its always enough. Their lattes are yummy & their OJ is perfection!

The Griddle can have long lines on the weekends, so I always go around 11am on weekdays. They serve enormous portions so share or be prepared to take food home. My favorite dish is the French Toast with a side of bacon. It's buttery and thick and tasty enough you don't need syrup. The Benedict is also really good, and... More

In December, LAUSD shut down all its schools due to a threat, and I couldn't take my 11 year old son to school, so I decided to take him out to breakfast at one of my old faves from back before he was born. He was a bit shaken up about the school closure, but when he walked in the... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
