A tummy full of yummy at Buddha's Belly

Buddha's Belly should be on the tip of every foodie's tongue. Alas it is one of those restaurants you love at first bite, but somehow forget about it. We stumbled in the other night, hungry after attending a few events in Los Angeles. It was as good as ever, maybe even better. The place is... read more

Pros: Fresh, quality ingredients, nice decor, good, fast service Cons: Over priced, bland flavors, small portions, poor value The whole reason for eating Asian food is for the flavors. How disappointing to get dishes that look like the real thing but just don't deliver. I tasted four dishes and the only one that came close to delivering was the cucumber... More

My older son lives quite close to Buddha's Belly, and we have eaten there together with his family on several previous occasions with satisfactory results. I believe that they have undergone a recent change in management or staff. Sadly, the change has not been for the better. During our recent visit to L.A., we ordered takeout and was told that... Did a tour to Santa Monica and after some shopping found this restaurant on our way home. From the outside looking in all dishes lookedd very good, so we went in. Ordered the Tom Yom Ramen with shrimp and the Fried Rice with steak and shrimp. Man, was that good. Freshly prepared it tastes awesome. Also had a wonderful glass... More

This restaurant may have been great at one point, but the new management has been shown to be corrupt. My roommate got a job there recently as a chef and was an excellent and very fast employee according to all of his fellow staff. Unfortunately, after about two weeks of working there, he got FOOD POISONING at the restaurant while... More

We were looking for some place for lunch after the LA Marathon. We stumbled upon this place and went in and luckily got a table right away. Our appetizers and drinks were wonderful. Service was terrific, but our main dishes seemed just okay. I would give it another try. Maybe it's just what we orderd.

Stopped here after a stroll on the pier. Very good food. Service was good as well. If you need some Asian cuisine in Santa Monica, try this place out.

Buddha's Belly is a go to favorite of mine. Party that's because it's just a block from my house, but it's also because it's always good. I always start with the Albacore and Avocado spring roll. The Miso black Cod is always good, and I loved the blue lake green beans, but I think they may have taken them off... More

Ok, the parking is a little of a nightmare, but thanks to the valet it was no problem. We entered around 8:30 PM on a Friday night and there was no wait. Our server (tall bald gentlemen) was excellent. He was friendly and knew the menu well. His recommendation of the Red Curry Scallop Fried Rice. It was amazing. I... More

Love the food, the atmosphere, the service. There's nothing I don't like about this restaurant. The menu is creative and electic. I've never ordered anything in this restaurant that I don't love. I could eat there five or six times a week and never get tired of it.
