Wonderful late night dinner

Of course, the tequila was excellent. We were able to find plenty of "lighter" options since we were eating late (10pm.)

Middle of the road kind of place. Lively atmosphere. Big menu but only a handful are good, but they are very good. Santa Fe Chop Salad and Bistec Cubano are very good. Fajitas are very nice as well. Everything else is good but not overwhelming.

I had a grilled salmon dish that was out of this world! The salsa and chips they serve before the meal are so fresh and delicious! It was one of the most enjoyable meals I had while visiting West Hollywood!

We don't come for the food, although it's consistently pretty good. And not for the service, which is typically great, although this last visit was bordering on bad. We come for the atmosphere (semi-outdoors, super-busy, mostly gay) and the fact that Marix is within walking distance. And since it's been around forever, it's just a comfortable Friday night stop.

The Blood Orange Margarita was fantastic...definitely had a nice kick. The Blackened Chicken tacos were delicious, with all of the great sides. My boyfriend and I always stop here when we are in town! :)

I am a first-time Marix diner and I liked it. I went with friends who had their first date there more than 20 years ago! Go for the yummy margaritas. The food is good, not great. Fun crowd. Friendly service.

Around for the better part of 25 years, Marix never lets down on quality. Some of the wait staff have been there since the beginning and it's always a fun place. On mild evenings the tarp roof is rolled back and you can dine under the stars while you keep an eye on the hottie at the next table.

I've been going to Marix for nearly 28 years. Always a traditional to fly into LAX and straight to Marix for their fabulous Strawberry Margeritas and Chicken Fajitas. I am a creature of habitat but sometimes get a Chicken Burrito.. My friend swears by the Shrimp Tacos. Great atmosphere, sometimes have to wait for a table as they do not... More

Lived on Flores for a couple years next door to Merix and ate there about 5 times a week. Fajitas are the best thing on the menu, especially if you ask for the veggies caramelized (don't forget). Best inexpensive (relatively) margaritas in town. It's a WeHo staple in the community as it's been there FOREVER.

My son and I just loved the meal we had here. It a cozy open air contemporary setting. The service was friendly and prompt and the restaurant was very busy. We had the very tasty cheese dip. Then I had a half order of chicken fajitas which was more than enough for 2 people. The portions are very generous. I... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
