My friends who live in LA surprised me with one of their local go to restaurants. When we entered I found the decor drab, almost like a Resturant you might find in a large uninspired hotel. The food really surprised me. Excellent chops, a special salad with an artisanal goat cheese. The desserts were nicely presented. The chef came over... More

We had dinner at Jar on a Wed evening. We had reservations but probably didn't need them as the restaurant never got past half full. Service was altogether excellent and our foursome tried a good portion of the menu items available that evening. While some items were brilliant, some were only average, and I was expecting perhaps a bit more... More

This review is for the Sunday Brunch. We've dined here in the evenings and have have enjoyed it. The classy ambiance is really dependent on this room being lit at night...so for the Sunday Brunch it was very "bland" in terms of atmosphere. The restaurant had only a few tables with patrons for Sunday Brunch (12:30pm). The brunch menu is... More

This Restaurant is so outstanding, that we have already booked for New Years Eve 2014. We did that when leaving 2013.. Thank you Christiane- and Kevin (Of course) for making us feel very special!

I was last here for a birthday dinner hosted by others. In all fairness, the others enjoyed their food but mine was dry and tough (lamb shank) and I had to send it back, not my favorite thing to do. Last time I was here I was also unimpressed but didn't review it at that time. I would recommend it... More

We thought the atmosphere and service in here were a highlight. We came in for a dinner and were pleasantly surprised by dimmed lights and a trendy decor. The staff were very impressive - friendly yet not annoying. My husband had the special lobster salad as an appetiser and it was fresh and tasty. I had the market cherry tomatoes... More

The service and food was all great, the staff very friendly. We were a party of 12 and the service was great. The oysters were perfect. The pot roast was excellent, everyone enjoyed all the items they ordered. The wine list was excellent with great wines. One of the most enjoyable dinning experiences we have had anywhere.

This is a Los Angeles treasure with a broad menu of meat, braises and fish. Side dishes are outstanding. Drinks are creative. Don't miss a chance for a terrific dinner at a modest price for the quality level.

One of the few steakhouses that does sides and vegetables beautifully. We received excellent service from the time we walked through the door and throughout the evening. The oxtail and potroast were fabulous.

We arrived for an 8:00 pm reservation and were only able to ordered at 9:15. Staff works on their schedule, not necessarily what the customers want. Besides being slow, I had to ask three times just to get some salt. For a steak house, the meat was passable, but not up to the quality one would expect at that price.... More
