The Javan Restaurant was established in 1986 on the Westside of Los Angeles, California. The Persian Cuisine it offers is an authentic and delicate blend of featured dishes that represent the diversity of the provinces of Iran, each with their distinct and unique culinary traditions, flavors and food styles. It includes a wide variety of food and a diverse variety of salads, pastries, and drinks specific to different parts of Iran. Each recipe and the preparation of every dish in the kitchens of Javan is the result of first quality Meats, Fish and Foul delicately balanced and mixed with herbs, spices, nuts and Persian flavorings such as saffron, dried limes, cinnamon and parsley to make each mouth watering dish a unique addition to a royal banquet. Our chefs prepare each item on our extensive menu to promote healthy and nutritional eating without sacrificing flavor and taste.

A Bit of Persia in LA

I was unprepared for such a splendid meal with my family. Javan is an attractive restaurant complete with a Persian croner singing in Farsi. He set the stage for a host of onion and lemony treats. A slab of onion and basil leaves were followed by a succulent lemony beef and spinach stew. There was... read more

Persian food is a favorite, and now that I have tried Javan, I certainly will be returning. We were here early on a Sunday evening and the place had only begun to fill up. That may have helped keep the noise level comfortable and the service attentive. Food was very good quality. A thoroughly pleasant experience.

We literally walked in off the street because we were curious. Picked up the menus, and while it could have been Indian cuisine, none of the code words were there. I asked the rather distinguished gentleman who stopped at our table, "what cuisine is this/" His reply: Persian". We put ourselves in his hands, and he served the two of... More

Javan has an excellent Chicken Barg, not too cheap, but what do you expect in West LA. I really use to love this place until I found another cheaper place with better food.

The rack or lamb and cornish game hen are delicious. The food is fresh and clean. Javan substitutes their delicious rice choices with any salad on the menu which makes eating here a healthful option. Service is fast and friendly.

I had Chelo-Kabob and it was wonderful. Took my mom in a wheel chair and it was easily accessible. Service was fast and accommodating. A little loud in the restaurant.

I love middle eastern food but the food here is just o.k., not amazing. But the portions are outrageous, the service is fast and they are extremely child friendly. Make sure to get the cherry rise, that was my personal favorite. But everything tested o.k. Think of it as the Iranian version of home cooking.

A really different type of cuisine (ie Persian)? Copious and delicious? Healthy eating? Value for money? Yes, yes, yes, and yes. OK, well, maybe the Bademjan (sauteed and cooked eggplant with lamb shank served in tomato sauce and side of Basmati rice) isn't the healthiest option in the world, but it is one of the most delicious things I had...
