Unfortunately, it got too big too fast over the years.. prices raised more than the acceptable standard, food, service, and delivery have also severely deteriorated. I haven't been in the one in melrose ave but mao's is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Venice. It could be a bit over-priced at times, esp when i know of better places in san gabriel and chinatown for chinese food but i still appreciate the ambiance, the food, and the location. more

Gummy, overcooked noodles, boring spring rolls, kung pao chicken that has way too many bell peppers in it. Not a single chinese cook or wait person to be seen. This is not one of LAs best chinese restaurants. more
