Pulp Fiction Comfort Food

Driving past Pann's, we had a Pulp Fiction flashback and turned around to eat there. Turns out our instincts were close since this is a the cousin to the original diner from the Tarantino classic. The movie aside, Pann's is great for the stomach and much less great for your coronary arteries. The... read more

You've seen this diner in a number of blockbusters: Triple X w/ Vin Diesel, Next w/ Nicolas Cage & Jessica Biel among others, but not in Pulp Fiction contrary to the legend. Loved the 1950's architecture and the tacky decoration. The service is friendly enough, it is usually full and the food is average. Definitely a MUST SEE for tourists... More

Like Norm's and Dinah's, Pann's is one of the very few 1950s style diners left in Los Angeles. The waitresses and service is great. The food is comfort/soul food with Mexican and American thrown in. Perfectly reasonable diner food but go for the experience of the 1950s throwback.

First off, the architecture, signage & condition of this "Googie" style diner is worth the visit alone. Add to that, friendly & attentive service, and delicious food (had the best damn Tuna Melt I've ever had). We ate there three times in our first visit to the area. When we went there for breakfast, we met the owner who made... More

If you are in the area, it is worth the trip. Evan if you do not have a car, it is on the Metro #110 and #217 and one or two other routes go right by it. A 50's or 60's style diner (expanded) with an extensive menu and very reasonable prices. Not a fancy white tablecloth type place. Place... More

Short drive from the airport, at a busy intersection corner. The place Looks like an old dinner from the outside. Looks like an old dinner from the inside. Even the sign is old school. And that is part of the charm. And the magic is the people that takes care of you. Everyone seems to know everyone. And they are... More

My wife and I used to live in Ladera Heights and are familiar with Pann's. Now that we've moved away from the area, we are a bit nostalgic for many of the local spots we used to frequent like Pann's, Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, Johnnies Pastrami & Tito's Tacos! This particular morning, I missed my flight out of LAX due... More

Yes, Redonkulous!!! The chicken and waffles blows Roscoes away. It was really good! The vibe is really cool and for a place that has been there for years without much of an upgrade, it is clean and inviting with happy servers and fun music pumping through the system to boot! Will be visiting again if I am on this side... More

Looking for breakfast near LAX. This may be the place you want. Excellent food and plentiful portions. Menu even has a little southern flare with grits or chicken and waffles. We had five meals and five happy people.

Pann's has been around since the late 1950's and still has that 50's décor and menu and vibe. It was feature in Pulp Fiction. Red leather booths, large counter service, etc. The place was buzzing on a Sunday morning. We had dropped our children off at LAX so decided to pop in for breakfast. We sat at the counter (thank...
