I've eaten at Brent's for more than 30 years. I remember way back to the original wall coverings (sad clown paintings) and the little pass-through window to the Stovepiper (the bar next door), long before the place expanded into the space next to it. So many great delis in LA - Langer's, Canter's, Junior's, Nate & Al's. But Brent's is far and away the best one; others stand in its shadow. We moved away from the Los Angeles area in 1989 and this was my first trip back. HAD to drive up to Brent's for the most wonderful pastrami on rye!
