The outdoor area of the restaurant is drop dead gorgeous at night with thousands of fairy lights twinkling in the trees and a little stream running nearby. This is definitely a feast for the eyes and because I always rate ambiance over food I gave it 5 stars. The food is pleasant enough but not spectacular and the wine while... More

A beautiful restaurant that pays attention to detail. The ambiance is elegant and magical, surrounded by nature. The food is very good, interesting and prepared with care. A bit on the pricey side, but it has proven to be a reliably great experience for special nights out.

Please consider the majority of the restaurant is outdoors. The lovely canyon setting and native plants come with bugs and little crawly things. Then note menu items feature ingredients that are organic, vegan & local as well as slyly suggestive- "aum-lettes" If that sounds fine to you, then you will love the most romantic, most relaxing sanctuary in crazed L.A.... Have been three times here each time we have never been disappointed. We ate outdoors on the patio surrounded by fairy lights

Having never heard of this restaurant before, I didn't know what to expect. As my husband and I followed the hostess through the outdoor seating area to our stream-side table, I was instantly captivated by the beauty and serenity. We've been to romantic restaurants before but this one is by far THE most romantic one we've ever been to! The... More

If you want elegance and romance combined, this is the place! In a beautiful spot (perfect for engagements and weddings), the food is really excellent and the service very friendly and professional. We ate in an outdoor patio with sufficient heat lamps to make it comfortable in the evening air. Flowers and Buddhas make it a special destination.

I was a little skeptical of this new age blast from the past, but I was pleasantly surprised. Try the raw soup - an unexpected mix of avocado, cucumber, and apple served cold. Sounds weird, but tastes like heaven. Maybe the best soup I have ever had and I had tried a lot of soup. Other diners had the tomato... More

One of the most unique places on earth. No other restaurant like this is America. I am a type "A" high strung person, but when I get here, other than the stress that the parking can cause sometimes, I instantly relax. I am not concerned if I need to wait a little longer than my reservation until seated, I enjoy... More

As just about everyone knows, L.A. Is filled with marvelous restaurants. So, it is difficult to say Inn of The Seventh Ray is a five star experience, it isn't. But, IOTSR is a wonderful restaurant in a magical location. If you're looking for something, romantic, different, out of the way, and good; then do yourself a favor and go visit... More

The Inn of the Seventh Ray has been a special romantic restaurant located in Topanga since abut the 1970. Originally a small church turned into a creek side mostly outdoor place for eating, weddings or other special events. I have seen it grow from a small vegetarian venue to a more encompassing and delightful restaurant. You can order the chefs... More
