An institution. Great, real Italian food. Got to go to Italy to get better. Very good service and it is the place to practice your Italian if you have a mind to do so. Of course, many notable faces there regularly. But why not, what is not to like. Make reservations, it is ALWAYS packed.

Food and service is excellent at this restaurant. It is a good place to take out of town guests. Celebrity sightings are normal. Can be expensive but worth it.

This restaurant was VERY good! The Italian food was definitely not your average. You can tell it is authentic. The wine list is great because it varies in prices, we paid about $55/bottle of white wine. If you are looking for celebrities this is DEFINITELY the place to go! In just our one night we saw Larry King, Aaron Paul... More

Excellent food and great service. Atmosphere was excellent. Very lively and pasta was excellent. Recommend reservations and also recommend sitting near the rear of the restaurant where it is a bit more room. Definitely will return.

This place is great. Classic Italian fare. Very luxurious vibe as soon as You walk in the door. The lobster pasta is not to be missed. Also the Osso Buco is amazing. If you want to rub elbows with the stars this is the place.

Visiting good friends in LA, this was there go to Italian restaurant. They ranted and raved about how good it was and they were correct. Since both couples were regulars we knew what to order, but everything was great.

Visit this place when you feel very rich. Not that it is ridiculously expensive, but the decor, the ambiance, etc .. expects it. It's no place to go without putting on your breakfast ;-) But yes no doubt a truly sophisticated place for fine dine and wine. Food is good, bar is great, service is nice (depends upon you if... Don't get me wrong, I like Madeo, but it's very dark and you have kind of a NYC thing going on when dining below sea level. If you're looking more for anonymity than a "scene" and be seen situation, this is the perfect place. Look around the room closely and you'll spot a celeb or two. I like Madeo for... More

Madeo is charming from the friendly Italian servers to the Italian owner visiting your table. The food is perfectly authentic, fresh, and delicious. We love Madeo.

Yes, Madeo delivers. We had an excellent dinner there. The wait staff never hurried us, as with the usual LA "Are you finished yet?" line uttered by most waiters/ waitresses in this city. Great ceasar salad and lamb shank.
