Friendly

Stopped by for lunch and was very impressed with how friendly everyone was. From the first moment I stepped out of the car everyone was very nice. Everyone. Valet, reception, bartender, waitress. This is not always the case in Beverly Hills. Impressive. I'll be back.

Full disclosure - I was a huge fan of the original Palm Restaurant on Santa Monica Blvd (regularly visiting from the mid-90s right up until it closed for reasons that I've never totally understood) - but now I have to admit that judging by my first visit the new Palm is just as good... if not (dare I say it?)... Stopped in for a nice break from shopping - so happy we did. The Palm is five star from the minute you walk in the door. White linen table clothes, superb waitstaff, excellent menu selection - the kind I love - enough - but not too many choices. Drinks from the bar were stout enough to make me purr. I... More

Manager was awesome, an asset. However, our server, James, isn't. James had an "attitude" from the second we sat down. Made us feel like he was "above" us, and that we were bothering him. One of our steaks were undercooked, so we sent it back, and it returned much closer to desired temp. Then the manager came over and apologized,... More

Great salads, great steaks, great lobsters, great wines, great cheesecake, great service! What else can I say? Exceptional service by our lady waiter, who not only gave us great service during our dinner, but after paying, I left my credit card in the little booklet they use for the check; our waiter found it and ran to the valet parking... I just went to lunch at the New Palm Restaurant in Beverly Hills. Loved it! It's full of TV and Film agents, and actors. Even saw Larry King! You must make reservations in advance because everyone who's anyone already has a booth reserved for whenever they decide to pop in for a power lunch or dinner. The food was really... More

We were after a decent steak dinner to celebrate my son's birthday. The meal lived up to expectations. Steak beautifully cooked. Side vegetables tasty and not over cooked. Good range of wine available by the glass - the 2 we chose were high quality. Restaurant full... But we were able to sit in the bar area with same menu.... This... More

As anyone who has read my reviews knows, I LOVE going to the Palm. It is probably my favorite restaurant to visit. Just tried the new location in Beverly Hills and while it was still a great meal, the ambiance that makes the Palm the Palm was lacking. The decor is very Beverly Hills and not so much the Palm.... Nothing special here. Small lunch menu. Spotty, but adequate service $8 valet parking. Food okay, but nothing sensational. Might go back, but in no hurry.

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
