My husband and I bought a online special for this restaurant and it did not have great appeal from outside . Once you go inside the vibe is like being in a quaint true Italian restaurant from Italy. We had a raw artichoke salad with a great light vinaigrette , followed by Branzino fish with fresh roasted veggies and Frute... More

I was driving my sister and my aunt from restaurant to restaurant, looking for one with convenient parking and no line for service. Finally, I parked next door to Locanda Veneta and announced that we were eating there. What a fortunate find! Everything at this restaurant is freshly made, and the bread is baked on the premises. For an unbelievable... More

In town visiting family, we popped into the restaurant at the last minute, but early. First ones in for dinner. Dark interior with a windowed porch and nice music. Heavy menu, but only 2 pages. Nice variety. My children raved about the pasta, and said there would be lots of specials. I chose a Branzino, (fish) for my main dish.... More

Took my sister there for her birthday lunch. One waited had not shown up so service was a bit slow. I ordered filet of sole and it was swimming in so much butter I could not eat it. Disliked that the only options were a prefix menu for three courses, and not inexpensive. Won't go back.

Locanda Veneta Category: Italian Neighborhood: Beverly Grove 5.0 star rating 3/17/2014 About 20 years ago Loved this place. Can't remember why I did not go back. We had a delightful dinner here last week. Had the lobster ravioli which was perfect Next was the ossobuco, another 5 dish. The sea-bass on a bed of lentils was perfect in presentation and... More

I have been eating at Loconda Veneta for over a year now and it never disappoints. Be mindful that they do not have a liquor license. The wine selection is good but usually we bring our own. The food is always fresh. I've tried everything from their pastas to branzino. They have have THE BEST tiramisu! It's a must try!

Once the end all, be all of Italian to the stars, the food is still excellent and expensive, but the blush is definitely off the bloom. Old and stodgy, just like most of the clientele. My waiter was an old pro, but he certainly lacked warmth and cheerfulness. Not where I wanted to be when taking my significant other to... More

Been wining and dining at Locanda Veneta for some 15+ years, with a group of self-annointed Hedonists.. Massimo is always the uber-gracious host, taking care of us himself, serving up platters of delicious savories. Last night was no exception.. Tuscan salads, mushroom risotto with shaved black truffles, pork, rabbit, venison chops and the desserts--all spectacular and savory. This is the... More

LV has always been an old standby whenever I'm in LA. It's a small bistro & charming spot in Beverly Hills remaining unaffected by trends and polished decor. The food is simple, solid, always fresh, and the service is excellent. For years I have almost always ordered their delicious roast chicken, a perennial not to be missed. This time I... More

Used to be amazing... now, not so much. The menu items are way expensive for what they are. The dishes are not that elaborated and they only play on the fact that is "Italian" food. For the record, authentic Italian food is simple and not expensive (yes I am Italian born and raised in Florence). I am not saying that... More
