An LA institution

Apple Pan has been at this location since 1947, and not much has changed in all those year. Clearly they're doing something right! The steakburger is their signature dish, and it's fantastic. I called to ask if there were tables as I was planning on bringing my 10 month old baby. The two men I spoke to pretended not to understand the question "do you have tables or just counter seating?". They proceeded to tell me I could not make reservations then asked me for my order, then placed the phone on... More

We're from the East coast and have to visit LA for my wife's doctor at Cedars Sinai. Every time we come out we have to visit the Apple Pan. Nothing fancy but incredible hickory burger and fries. All the pies I've had were equally delicious, especially the Banana cream. The guys behind the counter are always nice but on the... More

My husband and I ate here on a recent trip to L.A. I had the steak burger and he had the hickory burger and fries. The burgers were good and made to order. The fried were nice and crispy. I felt it was a bit expensive for what you get, but I guess you are paying for the old time... More

My burger was soft, wet, and flavorless. A slice of apple pie was equally wet--practically apple soup!

Honestly was not too impressed. Felt very rushed, but kind staff. I would rather get a McDonald's burger.

This is a family-run concern that has kept the 1940's feeling in decor, food and old time friendly service. It's worth a visit if only for the place itself but the pies are the real star. You may have to wait to find a place to sit but that's part of the charm.

This classic little diner serves up classic food. The Burgers are very good but the pies are the real deal. Drinks are served in Dixie cups and the servers add a whole nother experience. Fun place, worth checking out.

Funky atmosphere and just love the whole grungy diner feel. You order, get your fries asap, and then your burger gets there. This is where the problem was. I remember a much better burger. I had not been in years but craved a burger. The only burger, the Hickory burger, was smothered in the sauce, more like a sauce sandwich... More

Tiny hamburger wit hickory sauce ...mostly lettuce and white bun. Uncomfortable counter, only, seating.
