I don't understand what the big hype is here. It tastes like a an average burger. With lots of ketchup on it. I'd rather go elsewhere to get a better burger. Just a simple burger I guess. Not what you would call a gourmet burger. Parking here sucks. The parking behind the restaurant is very limited... read more

For many years, growing up in LA, my family and I used to go to The Apple Pan every saturday. By the time we sat down at the counter, the waiters already had our "usual" orders ready to go. After moving to NC, every LA trip we made was always capped off by a Hickory burger, a root beer, and... More

I was taken here by a friend who has be going here for over 40 years. I hear that it hasn't changed a bit and you wouldn't want it to. You have to wait in line for a while. Then you sit around the cooking area. The guys are friendly and funny to interact with. The hickory burger was majestic.... More

Thanks to Huell Howser's great review we decided to try this place and we were not disappointed. Great food and quick service. Only bad part is how you get your seat. You have to stand behind people and wait for them to finish eating and then grab their seats when they leave. Wish they had a sign in to eliminate... More

Old school doesn't have to be a bad thing but in this case they have let it go to their head - too cool for school. The counter is a novelty in this day and age and so is the cash only policy. However what they have forgotten about is the customer. What once made this a can't miss is... More

Forget the good apple pie, this is a place to come for a Hickory Burger and fries, which i do regularly.Sit down at the old school counter and just enjoy a special burger and awesome fries which people have been doing for over 60 years.

My family and I have been coming to the Apple Pan ever since I can remember. Heck, there were (are) weekends where we'd make the drive from San Diego to Los Angeles just to dine at our favorite burger joint. This place is held dear to my heart as it holds many fond memories of my childhood and not to... More

The Apple Pan has been a landmark spot renowned for its burgers, fries and pies. You must go to experience the ambiance of this simplistic yet well oiled food machine. No reservations taken and depending on the time and day you go, there could be open seats or a wait to be seated. The menu is basic with either a hickory... More

Went in search of Apple Pan on the strength of Frommer's and Fodor's. Quaint setting with bar seats around a horseshoe shaped counter. I don't really care for sweet sauce burgers so have taken the rating down by a notch. My friend who did not mind it thought her burger was good. However we did have both the apple and... More

We tried Apple Pan based off recommendations for their burgers and it was worth it. If your in Westwood head to Pico and try one. The only warning is the restaurant is small and only has counter seating. We tried the steak burger and hickory burger and both were great. We were served incredibly fast with excellent service The server... More
