Best Sushi in LA go visit Nori in the Wilshire Blvd location

I have been going to Sasabune for years and am finally reviewing it. Not only do they have the best sushi in LA they also have a lunch special . Sushi Chef Nori takes immense pride in the quality of his sushi and it is obvious with every bite that melts in your mouth. No Spicy Tuna or... read more

This was my first Los Angeles omakase experience and is so far still among my favorites. I miss the old location on Sawtelle, but even on Wilshire, the rice is the right temperature, and that's what counts!

One of the best meals of my life! Mind you, you will spend a lot of money. We spent $200+ for two people. But this is not a california roll, spicy tuna roll kind of place. The sushi here is simple. Rice and fresh fish, a little bit a sauce and it’s magical. This is what I imagine being in... More

Make a reservation at the bar, you will be sercved by the Chef himself offering you the best sushi. Be prepared to eat a lot and delicious sushi.Toro is just superb. Drink the world's No. 1 Sake ( we had it cold and warm) and try the milky undestilled sake.

Sushi lovers will find the omikase is heavenly. In addition, sashimi and sushi are available a la carte ... and a better choice when you have a smaller appetite. Abalone is AWESOME!!!

Very fresh fish and not your normal rolls. Much better if your want a better experience. I suggest if it's your first time go with the chef recommendation so you have a real feel of it. And if you revisit which you will then you will know what to choose.

Consistently good, the sushi at Sasabune is fresh, innovative and delicious. While omakase at Sasabune has changed slightly over the years, the food is excellent and Sasabune remains one of the best.

After making my reservation at the Sushi Bar, I get a call back saying that they only serve Omakase (Chef serves whatever's good without you ordering). I prefer Okonomi (which is standard even at the best Sushi restaurants in Japan) where you order what you want at your own pace. I grew up in Japan having eaten at some of... More

if you go to sasabune in brentwood, expect fairly high-end sushi but a pretty dull and uninspired atmosphere which dampens the whole experience. Even by relatively laid back LA standards, it is pretty run down. A family occupied a large central table, the best dressed of whom wore a basketball jersey with cutoffs and unlaced hightops. Most others were dressed... More

We were fans of the old location and keen to try the newer, hipper (and smaller) location in Brentwood. We were not disappointed. The decor is more attractive but everybody comes here for...the fish! The reason to go to Sasabune is simple...the fish tastes so good that you don't need fancy rolls or sauces. It's a must do for any... More
