Fabulous Curry

I was surprised by how great the curry dish was. Definitely one of the best. Also had a delicious hot energy beverage. Can't remember the name. Menu with hundreds of great looking specialty items, all with creative names.

I'm a hungry meat eater and so it takes some doing to get me veggie, let alone vegan, but I could eat like this every day. The space is large, clean colours and homely. I chose to sit at the bar (I wish this was an option in UK restaurants). I had a perfectly balanced cucumber gazpacho - just the... More

People do not realise how fantastic vegan and vegetarian food can be when prepared properly with such superb ingredients! The menu here is inventive, creative, simple and delicious! The drinks are wonderful also. I urge anyone who has not been to give it a try and help cut back on the amount of animal protein we all eat ... For... More

Thank you Cafe Gratitude for providing dishes that my sister can eat!! She is (believe it or not) gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. It was amazing to see her order so much from the menu and be confident that she could eat all of it. I loved it and I'm a meat eater who usually turns her nose up... More

Nicely decked out place (not a knitted pine scatter cushion or wind chime in sight), with interesting menu of vegetarian, vegan, glutton-free, dairy-free, nut-free cuisine. Lots of really great dishes: a fabulous "Cesar" salad; amazing mexican style quinoa and black bean dishes; wonderful smoothies (try Luscious - a super thick "chocolate" one). I've been lots of times (my daughter is... More

I ordered the "Liberated" which, on the hot sunny day, was marvelous because it was served chilled. The flavors were fun and interesting, and my friend ordered the "Fortified" which was just as wonderful but not what I was in the mood for. I wasn't all that impressed that our waiter had to be stopped several times by several different... More

Extensive and eclectic menu, friendly and competent service with a slightly quirky ambiance made for a fantastic evening. I may just become a vegetarian after a couple of more meals at Gratitude.

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
