Gratitude is unique among vegan restaurants , chic and packed with non vegans - great atmosphere and an inventive and intuitive menu - and the best smoothies I've tried - I love the humble dish, their buckwheat pancakes in the morning - everything on the menu deserves its place there

The food is ok, nothing spectacular as the wait or crowd seem to make you think. But the service is just unacceptable. Came at a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and basically only one waitress? Obviously, total blame is not on her and must be shared with management if not mostly on management for such a setup. Given its only one... More

Amazing food, service and good vibe concept. We spent 3 days in Los Angeles and hit up Cafe Gratitude for Dinner, Lunch, and Breakfast. I love the use of fresh basic ingredients with house made recipes. I'm vegan but my husband is a big time meat eater and he was blown away with the food, as I quoted him in... More

So this was on my teenage daughter's list to visit as she is a big Jason Mraz fan and he is an investor/supporter of Cafe Gratitude. So on our trip from the UK to west coast USA this was on my list. The SatNav duly took us right there and we found an underground car park immediately adjacent to the... More

Cafe Gratitude is a must for vegetarians, vegans and anyone else who is looking for healthy food that's tasty--a combination that can be hard to find. The menu offers an extensive choice of dishes, as well as appetizers and drinks. My dish, called "Resolved," had a delicious array of foods based on New Orleans cuisine, including dirty rice, collard greens,... More

If there were more places like CG then I am sure there would be more people opting to eat less meat and that would be such a fantastic move in the right direction! The food is inspired and the choices many ... and the matcha green tea latte is simply superb, accompanied by a coconut 'Joy' of course!

If you're vegan then this is obviously the place to go, but as not vegans I felt we were not welcome here. Very expensive but I guess you can feel superior doing your coffee. For better coffee cross the street.

For those of you that know me, you know that I kind of have a sweet tooth. So for a vegan based restaurant I have to say that I really enjoyed the pancakes. I will follow that up with how I just love the banana bread, it surprisingly delicious. The waitstaff are pretty friendly and the ambiance is pretty good.

My favourite low key healthy food cafe, not your typical boring vegan place. Menu is full of innovative dishes using some interesting ingredients you wouldn't think would taste good together. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, aligning with the gratitude theme.

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
