If there were more places like CG then I am sure there would be more people opting to eat less meat and that would be such a fantastic move in the right direction! The food is inspired and the choices many ... and the matcha green tea latte is simply superb, accompanied by a coconut 'Joy' of course!

If you're vegan then this is obviously the place to go, but as not vegans I felt we were not welcome here. Very expensive but I guess you can feel superior doing your coffee. For better coffee cross the street.

For those of you that know me, you know that I kind of have a sweet tooth. So for a vegan based restaurant I have to say that I really enjoyed the pancakes. I will follow that up with how I just love the banana bread, it surprisingly delicious. The waitstaff are pretty friendly and the ambiance is pretty good.

My favourite low key healthy food cafe, not your typical boring vegan place. Menu is full of innovative dishes using some interesting ingredients you wouldn't think would taste good together. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, aligning with the gratitude theme.

I am not a vegan or vegetarian but I will say that for a confirmed meat and gluten eater Café Gratitude was very very good. I had the buckwheat pancakesas did my son and really enjoyed them. My daughter-in-law had the bonita and loved it and my husband had the bagel plate and quite enjoyed it. My granddaughter loved pretty... More

I first ate at Café Gratitude in San Francisco 4 or 5 years ago. I am not a vegan, but search for fresh, wholesome food and was originally blown away. Fast forward to my second visit years later and I am even more impressed. Deliciously good and wholesome food. If this is your first visit, splurge and have one of... More

Great menu, so many new & interesting things. One person in our party was allergic to onions. I was very impressed when someone came by with a book that listed all the ingredients in all of their dishes. He sat and went over everything with us! Downside because of this our food took quite a while to get to us.

Went there for lunch. It was OK. Not spectacular in any way. Lots of vegan and gratitude chichi that one can do without.

We had an early dinner at Café Gratitude. The waiters were helpful and the atmosphere was bright and clean. We had the arancini as an appetizer - it was quite good but the coating was a little dry. That said, it was the best course that we tasted. We had 2 "bowls" as main courses. Both tasted very "healthy" but... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
