Food was very good as expected. Service was outstanding which is why this place has been here for 92 years. We will return for sure.

I've always been a big fan of Tam O'Shanter's lunch in the bar area. It seems like something has changed there. The usual chef at the carving station wasn't there and the menu board was no longer there either. Perhaps they are making some changes, but I did like it the old way.

EXCELLENT carving station with incredible meats. Turkey, roast beef, prime rib, brisket!!! you can't go wrong, includes fresh all you can eat potato salad, beets as well as fresh made horseradish and other condiments. Add a fresh mostly local craft beer and you have an excellent lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

I love this place and have dined here often over the last 40 years. Each time I enter the dark and cool interior, I forget about all else but the moment. My favorite is the sandwich and ale bar where I can order at my leisure. Fare includes roast beef, brisket, corned beef, and roasted turkey and salads. I think... More

So we don't like hearing that the reason why our food was taking so long was that the kitchen was busy -- that just means that business is good and that the kitchen staff dod not adequately prepare their service. We had several lobster tails and were surprised to find them panko crusted with spices -- there was no hint... More

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Our experience: Kindly greeted as soon as we got there. Had a reservation at 8 and were a bit early so the gal said we could hang out in the bar until our table was ready. A couple minutes after 8 they came to grab us and seated us. Shortly thereafter... We started coming here in the 1970's for their slice to order lunch bar. The quality has never changed...just the prices have inched up but it's still the best sandwich in L.A. Brisket, roast beef, corned beef, turkey or Prime rib. The small salad bar with their potato salad, cole slaw and pickles are wonderful also.

Recently dined here after a twenty year gap. Amazing! Nothing had changed. Same wonderful attentive service, ambience and cuisine. Prime rib and creamed spinach as good as ever. In the age when so many restaurants quickly fade away, it is a delight to find the consistancy of execution always on diplay at this local favorite.

Have been here 4 times, each time I visited friends in LA, we went here for a great night out. Staff are friendly and the decor is warm and welcoming. Food is really nice, I recommend the fillet steak.... Cosy dining area but not on top of other tables either. Well worth a visit, cant wait to go back again.

Celebrating the recital of close friend at USC. We had a party of 9 arrived late on a Tuesday night and they fed us well from the bar menu. Our server and the carvery staff were most excellent. The corned beef was to die for and the creamed spinach is the best e ever had in a restaurant. My husband... More
