If you want to eat in the "what's happening cool spot" the Baco Mercat is it. Many people standing outside so make a reservation well ahead as the restaurant was packed. Even so we had a table for four on the left side against the wall which is quieter than the bar or middle. We were celebrating a birthday so... More

I heard it would be impossible to get a reservation at Baco Merkat, downtown LA. My daughter tried it and was successful! Being European and visiting Spain all the time, I didn't expect too much from a spanisch restaurant in LA. But our experience was completely different. Very friendly waiters, food very good, a little bit strange for us, europeans.... More

I came here a couple months ago and had to come on my next trip to LA. Made reservations in advance and although I had heard it is hard to get reservations, they were very accommodating to the millions of times I changed the number and time of the reservation. I was with a larger group this time which resulted... More

I loved Baco Mercat, with its tapas-like small plates to share. They recommended 2 plates per person and they were definitely on point with that recommendation - we were full by the end of the meal. Everything was delicious and inventive. Nice ambiance too.

Interesting menu with flavorful and well prepared food. The flatbreads are really ultra-thin pizzas by another name with well chosen and delicious toppings, The Baco "sandwiches" are also uniquly composed with great flavors and many need either a knife and fork or a really large napkin to avoid wearing the filling! Great flavors, good service though you should be aware... More

My Wife and I were in LA for a concert at the Staples Center and we decided to try this restaurant. It's in the middle of Downtown LA the restaurant has very cool décor, and since it was our first experience at a Tappas restaurant the menu was a little confusing for us but our waitress was very good and... Happy to secure seats at the bar during a busy Saturday lunch time. We enjoyed arctic char, beet salad, and of course, an amazing flatbread. Superbly tasty food. Hard-working staff. A pricey but quite fine glass of rosé topped it off.

We had about an hour to eat before flying home, and the restaurant we took the cab to was closed. We walked around for ten minutes, and then found this place with friendly staff, and delicious food! Got out of there in time, they even called us a cab, and held on to our luggage for us! the flatbread with... More

Met a friend downtown and she chose Baco Mercat. The scene is young and the service is very mediocre but the food is fabulous. This chef can cook! We had an amazing beet salad and a bunch of other dishes. Everything was terrific. We ordered about six or seven dishes for the three of us and each one was a... More
