For people who take their coffee very seriously

We live in Spain where coffee is only served as an espresso base. It pleases me that over the last few years more and more coffee shops are opening that take the time to brew a really decent espresso coffee. This is one of the best I've had outside of San Jose. I went with Black Cat Classic Latte... read more

Intelligentsia's barristas are amazing! They are world renowned and each cup is perfection. In addition to excellent coffee beverages, Intelligentsia has the most amazing hot chocolates and mochas made with Askinoise Chocolate.

I tasted coffee with soya milk and it was good. The atmosphere in that place is nice. Good people and you can relax drinking your cup of coffee.

Money well spent! Time well spent in the line, too! I love this place and so does everyone else! They have other locations, too! This place is always slammed but those that love good coffee come here, take it to go and enjoy it in your car or just anywhere but here!

They take their coffee seriously, And it's so good, I had to take some (beans) home. Minimalist decor - but a lot of smiling faces. Especially after tasting the coffee. The assorted pastries looked amazing, but why dilute the flavor of the great coffee... Did I say I like the coffee?

We went to the cafe on Abbot Kinney. Seriously the coffee is to die for! There is often a long line, but it's worth it.

Where can you enjoy real coffee in the US? Only at Intelligentsia. The queue is long but worth the wait. The building is sparse and the seating could be improved but need their coffee. Stella

If you're a serious coffee drinker, you can't miss Itenlligentsia. Located in the heart of Abbot Kinney (hands down the best part of Venice beach) this is the best coffee. The minute you walk in you can tell they take their coffee very seriously. I live about 25 miles away so I don't get out to Venice beach too often.... More

I met my college friend at this place for a coffee. It was recommended by him. . I liked the store, very hip and nice modern architecture. Coffee was OK.

I stood for 10 bemused minutes in a club-like queue in the entrance, waiting to enter to order a... coffee. After seeing how slow and uninspired the barista was stumbling through his orders I left and went down the road. What a dysfunctional cafe.

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
