Great Happy Hour

My daughter and I were hungry after a day of touring colleges. We stayed in Venice Beach and looked for a place for dinner. 2 restaurants we went to were not opened before 5. We found Larry's and it was open and was serving drinks and food. Happy Hour prices were great. We enjoyed our food and... read more

My wife and I stopped here for lunch after walking the boardwalk and pier. We had fish tacos and diet Coke. The tacos were wonderful. The girl serving us was quite busy and there were two hostesses standing around doing nothing but chatting with each other. I asked one of them for another diet coke and she couldn't be bothered... Venice Beach is certainly one of the most entertaining (I use this term loosely) places in town. You have amazing sand, water and beaches and one of the tackiest tourist traps around. Yet amongst all of that mess is Larry's. I have to say, great job!! The food and service were above par. We had the fish taco's and they... More

It's rate for me to find a cocktail that I have to return to the bartender. I couldn't drink the "grape ape" that I ordered. The bathroom was dirty and staff were unfriendly.

This is in a prominent position just off the boardwalk. Well known locally but really very average food and so so service. Serviceable but an opportunity missed by the owners to excel.

Wonderful atmosphere, nice craft beer selection and very friendly, efficient staff. We went in for a night cap on our anniversary. Before we left, the bartender had us trying the key lime pie!

One block off Venice Beach. Serves beer, drinks, wines and burgers and similar fast food items. Nice but pretty slow service. Average burgers, somewhat soggy. Good fries. Extra avocado for your burger is USD 2 and you then get 1/4 of an avocado. Acceptable rest rooms.

We had one of the best burgers on our road trip at this place and very delicious fries. What I also really liked was their beer list because they had some sorts of beer which you won't get at many places. Service was very kind and we also had the chance to split our bill, which is very uncommon in... More

We walked past this place to Erwin hotel to watch sunset from their rooftop bar. When we saw this restaurant we thought it looks very nice and when the staff from the hotel recommend us Larry's for dinner we thought we have to go there! The food was amazing and the atmosphere great too. It's just off Venice beach and... More

This was a very nice surprise during our visit of Venice beach - one of the best burgers I have ever eaten (Larry's burger) plus great french fries with very delicious souces. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Deffinitely recommended to everyone!!

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
