Quick & Delish!

We were going to a museum exhibit at 12:45, had 30 min to grab a quick bite- they sat us immediately, Bryan, our server, told us what would be quick (appetizers and salads). Brought out food pronto with the check. We ordered the Brussel sprouts- they were incredible! We also had the chickory salad... read more

Long delay before placing our order, then had to ask for the check three times before it finally came. When it did, it included charges for items that had not been delivered to the table, and no one came to pick up the credit card or settle the bill until I got up and went to hostess stand, said I... Things started off pleasantly enough here. I ordered the hamburger, my logic being it's hard to mess up a hamburger. (Boy, was I wrong!) I asked the server if it could be lettuce wrapped instead of being served in a bun, and the server assured me, with a coquettish blink of his eyes, "Absolutely!". He also asked me how I... More

Service, food and nice room. What else could you ask for? We split an unusual salad, had the white pizza and a very tasty Cubano sandwich. Also interesting was the menu of waters from around the globe. Sounds silly but not what you expect. Water does taste differently. Great way to break up your museum visit and spend a hour... More

After visiting the LA County Museum of Art, we stopped for a drink at Stark Bar, in the courtyard of the Museum. Nobody there - from the host to the bar manager to the bartender - seemed to have ever worked in their job before. Sitting at the - uncrowded - bar, we waited 10 minutes before anyone noticed .... Last night, my husband and I ate at Ray's, before a concert. Service was wonderful, the food was exquisite as always. We feel fortunate that such a fine dining establishment is in our neighborhood. But last night was extraordinary in an entirely different way. I choked while eating, lodging a tiny piece of food over my windpipe. I couldn't breathe... More

Recently on a business trip, we ate here after work. The weather was pleasant and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. We were given a choice of sitting in the bar or restaurant area, both of which were similar and had a nice ambiance. I ordered a local California beer, as I always enjoy trying the local craft beer if available,... More

Been to Ray's & Stark restaurant and bar at LACMA many times. Each place, the restaurant and the bar area are both excellent!! The last two times, I've been sitting out in the open air bar area having 5 piece hors d'oeuvres and wine or the 5 piece cheese board. Both were great and I have told several people about... More

Rays is a favorite whenever we head to LACMA. They specialize in farm-to-table and seasonal food, and have a deliciously inventive menu. Warm, fresh bread starts off your meal, and they have an extensive water menu, with a large selection of different sparkling waters. The food itself is absolutely delicious, and definitely worth the price tag. Great location, great people... More

I don't usually eat in hotel restaurants or museum cafes unless absolutely necessary but having spent a long morning at LACMA and having read about Ray's in my guidebook, I decided to try it out. I did not regret it and would gladly go back. I can't say anything about their dinner menu since I had lunch only. And what... More
