Description: In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Over the last 40 years Gladstones has become a South California landmark. One visit and you'll see why.

I enjoyed a wonderful meal here with a friend, we both had the catch of the day, along with some starters. The food was tasty and portions were generous. Our waiter was awesome, he was helpful and full of smiles. I would recommend going there for dinner so you can watch the sunset.

The food at Gladstones is good, I won't says is great because, to me, it's only ok. Although the location is great and the views are spectacular I think the food is very expensive but I understand you pay for the enclave of the restaurant. I wont give them 5 stars because the valet parking sucks, $7 and no validation... More

We have been here on a few occasions and each time we are not disappointed. The food is fresh, terrific ocean views and they are literally right on the beach. A few times we have even changed in the bathroom and taken the kids out onto the beach after lunch to enjoy the scenery and waves. Overall you won't be... More

Food was great, service was spot on, we stopped after the getty and we're told they accept reservations but they would see what they could do? After a brief wait we were seated and throughout the whole time we were there more than half the tables remained empty! Food did not come quickly almost two hours to complete lunch.'

Killer ocean views. You can't beat it. You are right there. You can smell the sea. Interesting but quite busy atmosphere. Probably more tourists than locals eat here and there are a lot of families which translates to cranky, disoriented parents trying to keep tabs on their little urchins. Grab a Bloody Mary and don your earbuds. All the shell... More

Fish lovers be ware if you want to eat fish at Gladstone in Mailbu. Great mistake I made by ordering the fish of the day. It looked good when they brought it to me, but when started to eat it, it did not taste good, nor fresh. It was deep fried and dry, then soaked in some Mexican salsa on... More

The ocean view at this restaurant is amazing. There were dolphins playing in the water as we ate. Unfortunately, the food does not match the view. As others have said the clam chowder is excellent but nothing else we had came close. Most is very bland and overpriced for the quality and taste. I would suggest cocktails and chowder then... More

Food is ok. Lot's of families if you are ok with that commotion. Fun Bar area and nice outside area. Best part is the location. For a more local experience try Dukes, down the road.

We have been to Gladstone's many times over the past 15++ years. We discovered on our last visit that things have changed quite a bit. Their goal is to be much more upscale and prices reflect that. Thank goodness they still have the clam chowder! Still the best! We ordered fish and chips and a large pot of various shellfish/seafood.... More
