Description: In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Over the last 40 years Gladstones has become a South California landmark. One visit and you'll see why.

I choose this restaurant for lunch knowing reviews weren't great; however, I wanted to try it for myself. The fish tacos were good as was the watermelon mojito. My guest's fish and chips were greasy and not memorable. However, the fact that we felt very rushed to leave was the main thing I will remember, and we surely were not... More

Had lunch with my wife and two adult sons. Easy valet parking, got a table mid-day on a weekday with no reservation and no waiting. Breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and beach below. Nice draft beer and wine selection. I really enjoyed the fish tacos, wife enjoyed tuna salad with seared tuna. Wonderful meal, great memories, excellent service.

Gladstones is one of the first restaurants I ever visited in L.A. back in the early eighties, I'm pleased to say its still there and obviously thriving. I've never been disappointed with the service or the food; I ate shark; it was delicious, the beer (ale) selection could be better though, yet, still better than 30 yeas ago when they... More

My husband and I were downtown and decided to take PCH back towards home. We stopped at Gladstones for dinner. This is the second time we have been here based on a recommendation from a friend. You valet park and it's $7.00 just FYI. Cash only. You will be seated quickly, however it will take 5-10 mins for someone to... More

We arrived at 7:00 on a Sat night, place was hopping, but fairly big with indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to get a table outside beach side. Our server was very aware of everything around her, always on top of things. She let us in on Happy Hour even though it ended at 7, she said I saw... More

Went here for a family dinner with my parents from out of town. I'd probably give Gladstones 3.5 stars if I could, but don't think it makes sense to round up to 4 here. This is definitely a fun restaurant and was a great place to sit around. I'd probably go again with folks visiting LA since it was definitely... More

We had a family dinner & we were 1st time visitors. We were not disappointed. They have daily chef specials. The fish was fresh & tasty. We tried Sea Bass & Swordfish. Both were excellent. The kids menu had several choices all for $5.00 each. The entrees are not cheap (25-38) but the experience is worth it. The place is... More

We are actually still sitting at our table. We had a 7pm reservation but were seated just before 7. The service (thanks Kat) was outstanding and the food was excellent. The food came out quickly. My wife and I shared the salmon salad, clam chowder, macadamia rock shrimp and scallops. It was too much food and absolutely delicious.

This place has undergone a major make-over since the last time I was here years ago. It was once "Gladstones 4 Fish", a campy, peanut-littered tourist trap that was infamous for mediocre and over-priced food. Since then, the restaurant has undergone a major expansion and facelift, making it an upscale and really enjoyable destination, right on the beach. The outdoor... More

Some may call it a tourist destination but wherever you are from, it is just fun to eat here. Sit outside, the food is great and the atmosphere is casual - just feels like the beach should feel. Add fresh seafood and it's a perfect place to enjoy everything California - with no pretentions.
