Description: In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones...
In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Over the last 40 years Gladstones has become a South California landmark. One visit and you'll see why.

This was always a MUST when guests came to town, not so sure anymore!

Used to come here all the time due to the great food and the location on the beach and the fun atmosphere. This last time, very disappointed. Service was not good at all, food was average, young girls at hostess area did not fulling explain sitting outside vs inside and the difference in the... read more

Arrived at 6:30, sat right at water's edge, relaxing Thursday evening with spectacular service and wonderful meal. The fish chowder was OUTSTANDING....accompanied by fresh-baked bread loaves. Our grandson celebrated his 7th birthday with his leftovers wrapped like a penguin in foil. Quite a show, table-side. Grandson was given a huge piece of chocolate cake, enough to share with 4 adults.... More

Still wondering why it's still open... Great view. Lousy service. Below average food. Valets' seem to move the cars fairly quickly. Tourists and people from inland who don't know any better. I meet friends/here about once a year cause it's so close. Always a disappointment and regret it

Right where Sunset Blvd. meets the surf with great parking. Nice varied menu but seafood should be the choice. Wait staff can be inconsistent and it does get crowded & is a bit noisy - but food & location compensate.

The view is unsurpassed, right on the beach. This is a classic with good food and amazing ambience at the foot of Sunset Boulevard. Missing this is missing SoCal at its best.

Can't beat the right-on-the-ocean view, celeb sightings and ability to linger not only in the restaurant but on the spit of semi -private sand just in front of the spot. But of course, it comes with a price. Pretty darn good food ( friends liked the fish n chips, corned beef hash, Belgian waffles and Mimosas) . I had the... More

Airport restaurants are notoriously expensive, this is no different. I ordered the tuna, thinking it was a tuna steak...nope- tuna fish. $16 for a chicken sandwich, which was just average. Fish and chips was tasteless, and grilled chicken Caesar was $18. A draft beer was a whopping $10. Eat before the airport.

We came to Gladstone's due mainly to wait out the heavy traffic that we would have just been sitting in, waiting to get home to eat dinner. We started off with the calamari which was just horrible! It was rubbery and just swimming in the deep fryer oil it had been cooked in. Next we moved on to the fish... More

This restaurant right on the beach between Santa Monica and malibu. From our window seat the view glorious and relaxing. Food average and seemed pricey.but the portions were generous. Enough for a doggy bag! Very limited on vegetarian lso really not for vegetarians unless you want salad. It is a seafood restaurant but these days would have expected more than... More

Visited Gladstones recently for lunch after spa day with the ladies of the family. I have such find memories of this ace as we've gone here since I was a kid for various occasions, whether it was special or just because. Can't beat the ocean view dining. The menu has changed so much over the years. it seems a lot... More
