Description: In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Gladstones has been named an "Editor's Pick" in Sunset Magazine, one of Gayot.com's "Top 10 Outdoor Dining Restaurants" in L.A. and one of CBS Los Angeles's "Best Seafood" restaurants.

Everytime I am in LA i try to just graba lunch or dinner here. On the water, medium priced but just fun. Particularly at night. Have to use a relaxed mood because it is a touristy but still fun. Food okay but crowd has always been fun at night.

The waitress was very nice and accommodating. French fries were great, cole slaw excellent, and grilled chicken sandwich was good. You can watch sports on the TV, and airplanes on the tarmac. Quick and good food - beers are large. Pre-flight restaurant that is good.

Had a business dinner at Gladstones on Friday evening with out of state clients. Our check was in excess of $400. This iconic restaurant has seen its best days. Ordered medium appetizer, it was disappointing for the $72 cost. I ordered the Spicy Encrusted Tuna, it had no flavor or seasoning. Others said the same about there entree, the best... More

Breakfast...................Service awful.....food awful.....We thought we would have a nice breakfast before our flight. Two eggs, bacon (the frozen bacon that comes in a box), I think they were potato's and toast that did not come with the breakfast. Two people $43...... The toast for two was $6 Not clean, and not good.)

We had dinner at Gladstones early on Saturday night (around 5:30). It was packed! That might suggest the food is fabulous, but Gladstones has little to do with food. It's all about the view, which is totally spectacular. We were seated on the porch, which directly overlooks the beach and the waves. It was absolutely gorgeous. In fact, it was... More

The food there was "okay", nothing to write home about. This was our second to third time around the Malibu area, so we have gone to a number of restaurants that had much better food. I found the sandwiches to be a bit dry and tasteless, and when finding out the price afterwards, I was a bit shocked. I asked... More

This is a quintessential tourist trap. The view is gorgeous. We visited for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. The first clue for what we were in for was that they take photos of the guests and then try to sell them the souvenir photo. We expected to pay a little more than usual for our food, given the... I've loved this restaurant, at the intersection where Sunset hits the PCH right on the water, for at least two decades. After a significant remodel, the food remains extremely good--but I was extremely surprised that it wasn't all that busy on a Friday night! The Cioppino was a slightly reworked version, delicious, with a fascinating back-of-the-pallate mix of herbs that... More

Close to Santa Monica and making capital from being on the Malibu border, this place is touristy but offers an ocean-side view. Mean cocktails but otherwise average in that way that touristy places don't have to care about return customers. Staff are friendly, to be fair. Food is ok. Atmosphere is a bit eat it and beat it. And the... More
