Description: In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones...
In a world where landmarks are few and far between there is Gladstones. Situated where Sunset Boulevard meets the Pacific Coast Highway, it's become a place of Southern California legend. Gladstones offers a menu plucked from the very ocean it overlooks, serving modern renditions of classic dishes. In its typically relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, there's something to satisfy every palate. Whether you're at the raw bar, the lounge, the dining rooms or the grand patio over-looking the surf, it's commonly agreed there's no better place, either up the coast or down, to enjoy fresh seafood, a Mai Tai or a sunset. Over the last 40 years Gladstones has become a South California landmark. One visit and you'll see why.

I have been to Gladstones on prior business trips. I though we would make the drive and have a nice view and good fish. Was I wrong. Parking is no longer free and it wasn't crowded (should have been my first clue). We split the halibut, it smelled fishy and it's was watery. Needless to say we were both sick... More

Great view and good food. Take a look at your check though as the servers have a reputation for adding drinks you did not order to your bill.

I had business to take care of, just up the street, and after the meeting, my wife and I wanted to stop at Gladstone's, for their amazing clam chowder. Well...it was good, but...much different than before (which was more of a bisque...with no potatoes). We also had their kale Caesar salad - which, I will say, was great. However...no sourdough... Went here on Saturday and I must say that I'm impressed. After trying to call into the restaurant to make a reservation, I have up after twenty minUtes of trying to do so after being placed on a loop to the intro audio voice recording. Then I made my way to a third party reservation sight and it luckily worked.... More

First off, I think it's actually in Pacific Palisades rather than Malibu? Oh well, doesn't matter. The setting is really good. Right on the beach with a huge outdoors seating area shaded by large canvas sheets and a partial plexiglass shield to shelter from the wind when too fresh. Also two or three nice indoor seating areas with views and... More

Visited on 4/11/15. Made reservations through Open Table. We arrived early, and were seated with no problem. Menu had just what we were looking for--lobster. I had a 2 pounder! Prices were very reasonable. Being a Midwesterner, witnessing the sunset on the ocean is an awesome experience. My daughter and I enjoyed this perfect setting to celebrate her 16th birthday.... The fresh sourdough roll was steaming hot and delicious. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare.. It was cooked medium, but still was tasty. The macaroni and cheese skillet was delicious. We saved room for dessert and enjoyed the chocolate brownie that came with ice cream. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the ocean view and cool breeze.

Visited Gladstones with my husband while visiting LA on Saturday 4/11/15. We made our reservation through OpenTable. We had 5pm reservations and we were seated inside next to a window shortly after our reservation time. Our waitress, Layla, was extremely nice and helpful. We shared calamari, which was very delicious and plentiful! I had fish & chips, and my husband... More
