They don't have specialty rolls so I was skeptical at first so I tried the "trust me" and my mind was blow and I'm an avid sushi eater. Definitely recommend

I dined here recently being an avid sushi lover. Big lunch time rush but we got our food (chef's pick) fast. The fish was fresh, firm, and the rice was warm and sticky. Great experience, great ambiance, great waitstaff.

Don't bother with the takeout menu. It's awful. All the rolls (crab and tuna) we got tasted like the meat came out of a can, which was a shame because the the sushi (sashimi) was beaufitul. The pieces were large, fresh and flavorful. I'm sure you could place a take-out order from their regular menu! (Make sure you clarify if... More

Sugarfish is a no-brainer choice by for a quick sushi meal any time of the week, Sunday lunch included. Branded with the name of a celebrity chef, there is no doubt this restaurant chain devises some clever marketing gimmicks. The so called 'trust me' option is no real omakase but a mere set menu. That could be quickly forgiven in... More

When I write a review, usually, I first talk about the food, I recommend some stuff. Then, I talk about the service, I talk about the atmosphere. After that, I talk about the value. I answer the question 'Is it worth it?'. Finally I recommend or don't recommend the restaurant. But with SUGARFISH, I don't have to write any of... More

Every sushi love I know loves this place. Except my girlfriend. She is just getting into liking sushi and she heavily judges food on texture. She said that the warm rice + cold fish made it not good. That what I love about it tho. I often feel like Sushi doesnt satisfy my hunger. That is not to say it... More

I was fairly surprised that the place was very busy on a Monday evening. I blame it on the DineLA promotion that's going on until 1/31/14 which featured numerous LA restaurants that offers a special tasting menu for a good price. However we were not here for the DineLA special. The restaurant was dark and "cold" in appearance. It's a... More

Just had dinner here with some friends and it was an all around excellent meal. We all had different versions of the "trust me" menu, mine being the largest and everything we ate was absolutely, melt in your mouth delicious. I always tend to over order when I eat sushi out and I felt that the portion on the larger... More

Really good sushi, especially on Mondays:) It's a set menu, wish they have desserts tho. Their tuna sashimi is awesome, the crab roll is super "crabby" :) Usually a very very very long line. The best time to go is Monday and Tuesday, late lunch, early dinner:)
