We enjoy trying new places, as least new for us, and had read good things about Nickel Diner. Delete 'good above' for Excellent. The food, Breakfast Burrito and #2 Sramble Eggs, was awesome and servings are HUGE. Bring an appetite or someone to share. The Mimosa's, ? only weekends ? were very tasty and large as well. AND then there... More

My husband and I went to LA for his conference meeting and I checked the tripadvisor site to know the good restaurants around downtown area. It was only 0.7 miles from our hotel (sheraton) so we just walk. Overall, the food is great and the people are friendly. We tried the spicy pulled pork, avocado burger, maple glazed bacon donut, red... More

My friend and I came here for dinner. It was inexpensive, and the servers were all fantastic without being pushy or in your face. The dessert plate is awesome! I had the smac & cheese which was delicious. It had a nice atmosphere and wasn't too busy - everyone seemed to be just chilling out and enjoying themselves. A v... More

Loved the homemade jam. The homemade salsa was great on my already awesome omelette too! Super customer service! Will definitely return!

Keep your eyes peeled or you'll drive right by this place. It's as 'old school' as they come. Great diner atmosphere, even better food and service.

Saw this place on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and wanted to give it try. The pancakes were ok but the homemade strawberry jam they recommended with them was delish. There's likely to be a wait outside so be prepared as there is some interesting street activity around there.

We went to Nickel Diner our first morning in Los Angeles and it was a great american experience. We had the amazing nutella donut and I had the pancakes. I could not finish as it was so big. I also had a lovely fruit salad. Overall a great recommendation for breakfast

We had tickets for a midweek performance at the Disney Hall and tried the Nickel Diner for a pre-concert dinner. So glad we did! This place is just what you want when you are hungry for something tasty and homemade served in a hospitable atmosphere. The portions are ample (good to share) and the prices quite reasonable. The dinner salad... More
