The last thing you could be looking for on Melrose Avenue in L.A. is a courtyard with a restaurant attached. It shouldn't be the last thing you'd find, but I say that because L.A. is a constant surprise: little gems tucked into improbable corners, food that plays to an adventurous palate, an under appreciated foodie's delight, with remarkable settings that... Between the three of us we tried the lamb meatballs, fried artichoke hearts, white bean ragout, glazed pork belly and sliders. All were prepared just right and extremely tasty. They also carry a very good selection of wine and beer. Sit out on the patio if it is available.

We made an online reservation for this place on a Thursday night, but it seems that we got there late enough that it didn't matter. However, our server was great and gave us a great recommendation on a off-menu bottle of wine (to be honest, we were worried it was going to be super expensive, but at $60, it was... More

After a long flight, I had a wonderful dinner with 2 friends of mine. Not only dinner was perfect, but also the wine was perfect. The sommelier does exactly know what kind of wine we need. And he was funny too.

Vinoteque is now one of our must-go restaurants when in the L.A. area. Our second visit was as fine as the first a year ago. The house has a wonderful, limited wine selection which can be ordered in flights. The staff is excellent in helping you make decisions based on your preferences or willingness to experiment. And these are not... More

We were able to reserve the cabana on the patio several weeks in advance, and it was the perfect place for our group of friends to meet. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken back to the cabana. The server was terrific and recommended several bottles of wine that were within our price range and were greatly enjoyed... More

The food is quite gastro-pubby, Cali-continental, fusion-ish. The atmosphere is divine, the owners are fabulous and they are all over you. The crowd is not too snobby, so that's a huge plus on Melrose. I am not a fan of Salmon. I just have never been. I have read numerous reviews about the salmon at this place. I am more... More

I've been wanting to try Vinoteque ever since it appeared on Groupon. I actually didn't have any wine (although they had some good deals on tastings, maybe next time). The restaurant serves a french fusion version of tapas. It's a very casual and chill place with a very nice outdoor patio seating area. I would definitely recommend the sweet potato... More
