Yum!

Best portobello fries I've ever had! Even though it's always packed, but sitting at bar area maybe is a good idea! It saves time and same service!

Trendy and very loud. Calamari was deeply fried and dry. Sauce was average. Eggplant parm was attractive and tasty. Wait staff was great! Macarones were yummy though pricey.

My son and family took me here for dinner for my birthday. It was a Wednesday night and still very crowded. We had to stand to wait for the table which was not too long considering they do not take reservations. But once we got to the table and were served our food, it was well worth the wait. The... Such a beautiful open space restaurant that serves the most beautiful desserts and pastries. I took my aunt here to get some of their macaroons and fell in love. They have a full bar and serve food. The decorations were stunning. Fancy with gold accents and very happy employees. The macaroons and cupcakes were great. I will be back to... More

Dined there one lunch and one dinner. Amazing, large space (refurbished from some other purpose), high ceilings, packed both visits. Surprisingly not disturbingly loud, even though the space is open. Nice wine list, and really good food. Lasagna is amazing. Pizza, made in their brick over and out in the open, is fabulous. (You can mix types of pizza in... More

I love macaroons, and hesitated since I get mine from France, Paris or Nice when visiting. But this is your local Parisian replica, until you go back to the real place. Loved the variety, presentation and decor of the bakery. This month's flavor of the month is banana foster, awesome!!! I can't wait to have dinner here its a bit... More

Wow, I had no idea about this place for the past 27 yrs I have visited. Probably 'cause it's downtown and we only go there 'cause son goes to SC. Well, this place is big and loud, but in a good way. Lots of menu items but was actually very good on all counts. If you're in this part of... More

First time eating here, went EARLY for dinner since we had a nearby event to attend. Got in easily. Wonderful server, fun atmosphere, great food. Don't expect to have a serious, private conversation here, this is a FUN restaurant with fantastic food and amazing desserts. Thought I was in Paris for a minute....

Bottegas is one of my favorite stops whenever I am in downtown LA. I am always in awe by how busy this place stays, although its no wonder. They have very stylish decot and it is very trendy. It fells like you are eating in an exclusive boutique or at Willy Wonkas chef table. I say this because 25% of... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
