Traveling from Tucson, we chose Animal for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. Every course was inventive and delicious. Two of our party especially enjoyed the sweetbreads, veal tongue, veal brain and bone marrow. For the other two of us, there was fabulous oxtail poutine and other more traditional choices - all prepared and plated beautifully. Our server was... More

This restaurant may seem scary to a lot of folks - there's a lot of tail to snout eating here. But if my wife can enjoy pig ear - and ask for more - so can you. Terrific cocktails, a sublime wine list that matches the menu in terms of its adventurousness, and a deft wait staff that make this... More

Small and loud and very vibrant. This was not a criticism. It fit with the restaurant. Minimalist decor. The food is for the adventuresome because of the uniqueness of the cuisine. See urchin, pigs ears, poutine with oxtail gravy and cheese(outstanding). Tapas restaurant. The food and presentation was excellent. The flavors were well matched and blended well. This is a... Was there New Years eve, so staffing could have been an issue. This is a foodie restaurant. If you want comfort food, substitutions etc, go someplace else. That being said, I had three dishes, two of which, had the same vinegar sauce. Wife's brussle sprouts were way over cooked and had same vinegar as my dishes. Had the steak special... More

One of the coolest dining experiences of my life. Loved everything (chicken liver toast, narrow bone, sweetbreads) but especially the pork belly sandwiches with slaw. Fabulous flavor all around. And finished with one of the best tres leches I've had. Salt and pepper ice cream was also amazing! Run to this place!!

The food at Animal IS creative, and some of it is very tasty - but, unfortunately, not everything. The Chicken Liver Toast (one piece), Hamachi Tostada, and Veal Brain dishes were very good, while the Roasted Fig dish was mushy and bland. The Grilled Quail was good, but sparse (yes, I know this small bird is mostly bones, but the... More

I ordered the pig ears, head, and belly sliders wow I words can't even describe how amazing my dinner was. The staff also very friendly my waiter helped me pick a proper drink to compliment my meal. After our meal we were trying to figure out where in our top 10 meals this belongs. It certainly didn't hurt our perception of the experience when Tim Love strolled in for dinner. The generally small plates encourages you to try multiple dishes. - BBQ pork belly sandwiches topped with slaw got the meal started in the right direction -... More

So much great food in so many forms! I loved it, we got the hamachi tostada and the pig ears and they were both amazing. I especially enjoyed the "cheesecake"
