Here are the facts: every dish has meat in it, the dishes are all small plates, the chefs will not alter their dishes despite your requests, the restaurant is loud and crowded, the meal will cost at least $100 for two people and yes, they charge you for water. If you are going to complain about any of these things,... More

The food was very good. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. However I think he gave me the wrong drink. The hostess acted like she was better than her position and kinda snooty. Everyone else seemed very down to earth. The restaurant was not full, as I understand it often is. There are no signs or hours on the... More

This place does not post a sign outside so you probably would miss it walking by. According to my daughter this was the cool place to eat. We made our reservation and the place was so noisy that we could not hear ourselves think. Very pricey and it is or st least was when we were there a small plates... More

Adventurous food and a great addition to the LA food scene. Had a terrific bottle of Pinot noir here as well. Prices are reasonable. It's a great spot with memorable food. Staff is also attentive.

Last night's dinner was terrific. Dinner was casual, leisurely, and straight-out yummy. Service was great, and wine suggestions were good. We had an overall good experience. We ordered the chicken liver toast (yum), the hamachi tostada (AMAZING!), roasted bone marrow (very nice), poutine (it was good), and the BBQ pork belly (lovely). That tostada was so good, I still can... More

Traveling from Tucson, we chose Animal for a birthday dinner and were not disappointed. Every course was inventive and delicious. Two of our party especially enjoyed the sweetbreads, veal tongue, veal brain and bone marrow. For the other two of us, there was fabulous oxtail poutine and other more traditional choices - all prepared and plated beautifully. Our server was... More

This restaurant may seem scary to a lot of folks - there's a lot of tail to snout eating here. But if my wife can enjoy pig ear - and ask for more - so can you. Terrific cocktails, a sublime wine list that matches the menu in terms of its adventurousness, and a deft wait staff that make this... More

Small and loud and very vibrant. This was not a criticism. It fit with the restaurant. Minimalist decor. The food is for the adventuresome because of the uniqueness of the cuisine. See urchin, pigs ears, poutine with oxtail gravy and cheese(outstanding). Tapas restaurant. The food and presentation was excellent. The flavors were well matched and blended well. This is a...
