Delicious and Interesting Menu

My husband and I had brunch here last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Delicious and eclectic menu that changes daily. Our server was great with menu suggestions and explanations. We had the avocado toast, boner burger and fried quail - all amazing. Sake bloody mary was also great. Would... read more

Wonderful food and eclectic menu. So many great offerings, it is always hard to choose. Delicious burger (best I have ever had), rabbit larb, oxtail poutine, wonderful salads, basque with chorizo, balsamic ribs, hamachi, sliders, tres leeches cake are stand-outs.

Went to Animal for the first time and was impressed by the creativity and the tastiness of most of the dishes we tried. We were two couples, so we ordered 8 different dishes. Most of them were appetizer size and they were just large enough so that everyone could get a good taste. Here is my ranking by taste: Foie... More

Animal offers pricey innovative tapas/taster portions best shared among four people. Four, because it allows a serving per person and a proper sampling would be seven to eight items; each one is able to savor each order and not end up being too full in the end. The combinations are flavorful and interesting. The atmosphere is casual and hip, if... More

I had heard great things about this place and I been to and loved similar places, but I must say I was underwhelmed. I am from NY, so I was not surprised by the prices, but the portions were microscopic. And with the exception of the foie biscuit, nothing bowled me over. As for the wine list, it may be... More

This restaurant was perfect. The ambiance is cool, dark and collected. Although on of of Melrose's most popular streets, it does not scream for attention. However, once you taste the culinary magic, all your 5 senses will. The menu as I was told, is not set and changes from time to time. I tried a variety of dishes - as... More

I think the restaurant is popular with young professionals and trend setters. As it styles itself with a tapas bar, the restaurant's plates are rather light. Also as a bar restaurant the music played inside is reminiscent of dance clubs of Ibiza. So it is not place for quiet conversation. As for the food bone marrow and crostini with baked... More

There's a lot to like here but somehow I just didn't connect. The food and service are both strong however it lacks the magic. I wouldn't go back but don't hate that I went.

Food was Ok, not great. Staff were nice but they were busy and as we were a large party continually told us how much time we had left before they needed the table. It was expensive for what it was.
