Bona vista lounge - downstairs from LA Prime

Came here for a quick late night dinner before a long week for a trade show. Sal was my server and he was fantastic! What I would expect to find at a five star restaurant. Pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. I originally order the chicken fajita sandwich minus the guacamole but he was... read more

Great view and fancy setting. Food is good, but nothing really special vs any good steakhouse. For that price, you can go to the best chef's in LA. They should either reprice or step up.

My husband and I treated ourselves to Valentine's Day Dinner at LA Prime. The restaurant is on the 35th floor of the red tower in the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. We were seated by the window and enjoyed a spectacular sunset view of LA. The Pre-Fixe dinner was excellent as was the service. All of the women were handed a long... More

Great views from the top floor of the hotel and the service was great. The entrees we ordered were well executed.

Portions were large. Tuna tartare was average at best but the crab cakes were very good. Steak was ok.

Had a business dinner here on a weeknight. The Host was very helpful and accommodated a special request. However, our waiter needed some help. Despite his best efforts, his command of the English language was poor and it resulted in several errors in our order due to miscommunications. My bone-in-filet was great, seasoned very well and cooked to order, although... More

We had a New Years reservation here. We were not informed until we arrived that it was a price fixe menu. The selections were limited and it is certainly information that should be provided prior to a reservation, especially when they are charging $140.00. The seating is varied. There are booths, which offer a bit more privacy. If you are... More

We were served by Maria who was one of the best servers we've had in any restaurant. Very attentive, friendly, helpful with a good sense of humor. The center cut filet was amazing and we upsides it to a 10 oz size. The 3 lb lobster poached was excellent, and cooked perfectly as well. We had lobster bisque and the... More

Myself and my new husband visited this restaurant during our honeymoon trip to Los Angeles. Our food and service was little to be desired. We did not feel we received good value for the price paid but absolutely loved the views of Los Angeles. I would recommend this restaurant for a drink or dessert if you wish to take in... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
