Very busy place. Great atmosphere in the waiting area but the noise level at the dinner tables makes conversation nigh-on impossible - and it's one of those dark restaurants where communication by any other methods (semaphore/smoke signals etc) is quite challenging too. The food was good - tasty and definitely a place for sharing dishes, but the pros on the... More

I ate been stew. It was delicious and tasty. I had a glass of wine. The crowd is friendly. There were people waiting alongside the wall. It was kind of weird. I got a place a the bar quickly because I was on my own.

We had dinner at Gjelina with my daughter (who recently moved to LA) and a few of her friends because she was dying to try the restaurant. I did enjoy Gjelina, but it's more a spot for people in their 20's than people in their 50's! The ambiance and is great and the service is very good too, but the... More

My wife, brother and sister-in-law enjoyed a wonderful Friday afternoon here. We had some great beer and three to die for pizzas that included the Four Onion, Blanco, and Caramelized Fennel. They were all superb. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon so we ate on the patio in excellent surroundings. This was a memorable and fun experience

I have to agree with a previous reviewer--the food was great--but on a Tuesday night it was PACKED and super loud. This was our first time at Gjelina and planned to meet friends and catch-up. Needless to say conversation was difficult. We arrived on time, but our table was not ready for another 30 minutes (8:00 reservation, seated at 8:30).... More

The place is just wow!! The room is beautiful, the ambiance is relaxed and charming and busy. The food is just great. There is a lovely terrace behind the indoor room: not to be missed!! And try the pizza!

We made a reservation for 6:15 and the place was packed on a Wednesday! It's a trendy hipster crowd and everyone is shouting to be heard. Hard to enjoy the amazing food. We ordered the chicken and duck liver pate which was the only average dish we had. It was oddly flavourless. The pomodoro pizza was probably the best pizza... More

Went to Gjelina in a group of 4 and had a great night. We were seated in the balcony area and this was excellent. We enjoyed a good waiter and the food (mostly pizza) was really good and well priced. Wine however was very expensive, a $13-14 bottle of Rose is charged at $13 a glass or $49 a bottle... More

Though had to wait cos was pretty full, it was absolutely worth! Party of four at the table in the corner, awesome spot. Good salads and marroquine eggs. Abbot Kinney always a bliss!

This place is always amazing. The trout salad is outstanding. The oysters amazing, never disappointed by any of the food. Sometimes there's a wait but it's worth. Fantastic wine list.
