Watch out for the middle aged woman(with a giant mole on her constipated menopausal face) who greets you at Gjelina and sets the tone of your dining experience and unless you are Lindsay Lohan or a young tech mogul, be prepared to be insulted, ignored, and disrespected. Gjelina has perhaps the worst front of the house in the city. This... More

Multiple people waiting your table, one for drinks, one for food, one for orders, one for clearing, so there is no synergy and service is shambolic. There is no flexibility with dishes - I asked for fruit on the side with the porridge (for my son) and was told no its mixed in, I said fine then it arrived with... More

I had a delicious lunch with 2 friends in this cool place. We got a nice place on the patio, perfect to enjoy the sunny cali weather. The lamb burger was an amazing experience and for the dessert, please try the butterscotch. Mmmmmmm

we used opentable and made a reservation for two, i think this gets you the good table in the back if you reserve early and not among the long row of tables for two in the front. the table in the back is separate and much better. the food was really good and our service was good for LA lol..very... This is one of those places that in general I would love to hate. It's so cool that it does not have a sign outside, you can't get a table on a Wednesday night unless you book weeks in advance and everybody is so hip that you can't tell apart the customers and the waiters. And often people wear a... More

If you want to see and be seen this is your place, but if you want a romantic dinner go elsewhere. I went with my boyfriend. We made a reservation with more than 1 month in advance. Nonetheless, they made us wait more than 45 min to get us a table and made us wait standing by a wall. We... More

Loved Gjelina! I am very picky about food and everything I had at Gjelina was delicious. Interesting and tasty vegetable preparations, including grilled swiss chard with tahini and punpkin seeds and the most delicious squash I've ever eaten. Fabulous Corsican rose. Butterscotch pot de creme was a great finish to the meal. Knowledgeable, helpful service. Love Gjelina!

Went here on a week night. Everyone in LA had been telling me for the past year how amazing this place is....i was already nervous coming in to the eve that I may be super disappointed. Table booked and yet still had to wait. We sat near front of the restaurant and whilst the place is nicely decorated and has... More

We love the food at gjelina but the service is consistently poor. The hosts and severs NEVER welcome you with any sort of warmth or genuine pleasure. The only staff that exhibits any real authentic warmth are the bus boys. At some point the underwhelming service makes it less appealing to go there despite how good the food can be.... More

Brought a party of 5 to have another great meal in Venice. This time again - Gjelina didnt disappoint! Farm to table - started with chick pea stew, tuna on olive bread, etc. Everything fresh and service excellen. Expect to wait but we got lucky and sat just minutes after noon for lunch. This NYer will be back next time... More
