Unique and tasty food

Small plates, (sometimes too) cool service, but nice and different variants of food with subtle differences and a very good experience overall.

This is a very classy, sexy restaurant. You feel like a movie star here - very stylish place with brilliant service, ambience and food. I highly recommend you try this place out but be ready to wait if you have not booked. This place is one of the busiest places I have ever seen! 3.30pm lunch was still banging!

I should have left when I saw swarms of flies inside the restaurant and in the back courtyard. I decided to stay in spite of the flies because of all the good reviews. I ordered the zuchinni pizza and when it arrived immediately there were flies landing on it. When I mentioned this to the server all he said was... More

Easily the best wood-fired pizza we've had outside Naples. And we're well-travelled pizza fans. The crust is just the right blend of crisp and puffy and flavoursome, with some pretty wonderful toppings to choose from. Loved it.

Attentive service for endless coffee refills, and some really interesting menu items (with an informed wait staff that is sensitive to all kinds of diets), are worth the wait or the endless pedestrian traffic parade of gauzy dresses, sandals, baby strollers, floppy hats, man buns/man ponies, and other beach town hipster/surer chic.

This has to be the restaurant to which others aspire. It was a Sunday lunchtime and the place was throbbing with atmosphere; a buzz that was infectious. Charming staff and a wacky room put us all at ease, but it is the food that provides the ultimate experience. One example will suffice - the duck parfait with a soft egg... More

We went due to other reviews and were not disappointed. Wife had a great egg plant appetizer, while I had a BLT with fried egg. A side of fries was added. Sounds like a simple meal and not much to write about but boy was it good. Busy place.

Here is a restaurant with outstanding food, innovative menu and farm fresh dishes. But, the service was awful. Snarky server, slow, almost spiteful, service and generally an unpleasant experience. When will restaurants realize that rude service detracts from the overall experience?

Want a cool, down to earth, amazing service and incredible meal next time you are in Venice? You have to try Gjelina! This is my second time there for dinner with business friends and it was equally as amazing! Try anything with guacamole, their flat bread pizzas, salad with burrata and grilled peaches, grilled fish and meatballs. I don't eat... More

McDreamy literally opened the restaurant door for me, so this instantly gives the restaurant a high score! Food was delicious. Very fresh and organic. Service, not so good. We were a table of 8 and it took them a while to serve our breakfast, and when they did it wasn't all the same time. The location and decor is very... More

Staying in Venice

Neighborhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
