Very busy at lunch time - but they are prepared and move things quickly.

The problem with some successful downtown lunch places is that they are a victim of their success - and indeed the lines here can be very long. But they have properly adapted and the staff come out to get the order moving quickly so that their is the minimum of waiting. The pulled pork sandwich... read more

Not great, not bad...had the avocado and quinoa salad with steak ($3 extra) and an ice tea and it was good...however, the layered salad levels in a clear plastic bowl meant you could find what you wanted to eat and had to slog through the stuff on top...would have been nice to serve in a rounded plate so could mix... Stopped in at 11am, right when they open, to get a sandwich to go. Only one person in line in front of me but I waited for a full half hour for my order to be finished. They had already run out of some ingredients. Lots of workers on the prep line but totally disorganized! After all that time waiting... More

I first tried Mendocino Farms when it opened in Sherman Oaks earlier this year. My sister and brother had been there, and insisted I try it. We ordered different sandwiches, and shared them, so I could try it out. I have since been back, ordering salads, blue plate specials and deli salads (you can taste them before you order), and... Mendo (to those of us who work DTLA) is really a great lunch spot. The staff as so friendly and there is a reason why the Bunker Hill location always has a line. Their sandwiches are THAT GOOD! I love the Drunken Goat (Goat cheese and apples) or the Blue Buffalo (Blue Cheese and Crispy Chicken)...so tasty and fresh. The... More

I have been here a few times when i travel to LA for work. You have to account for the long line out the door when you are allotting time for lunch, but it is worth the wait. I have have the turkey torta sandwich and the Save Drake's Farm salad, both of which were amazing. I make it a... More

I'm vegetarian with vegan tendencies. My boyfriend and I went here. I tried the vegan chili. Like heaven in my mouth. I ordered the vegan dosa wrap and figured that would be more than enough, so I skipped getting the heavenly vegan chili. Dosa wrap was amazing! I've never had anything like it. The only down side was it was... More

My go to place for a quick bite. The parking is more than convenient. A lil heavy on the wallet. Options are quite fair and u can share portions with a partner and walk away content. Organic clean food makes this place worth the money. Delicious salads and sandwiches. Some of the sides are awesome! The customer service is on... More

We were out in Los Angeles visiting our son. My husband and I were on our own one day visiting the LA Museum of Comtempary Art. We were looking for a place to eat and this came up on our Smartphone. The food and service was wonderful and so different from our sandwich places back east. If you are near... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
