This is "the place" for Chinese food

I have had Chinese food at Chef Chu's since mid-1970s. It has consistently offered great Chinese dishes with courteous service. This name comes to my mind when I think of Chinese food in the south-bay. Almost forty years later, I still see the same level of service.

Bit overpriced, and lathered in oil. The food was good for chinese, but certainly not gourmet. I may return but it is dear too.

Came here for a quick dinner with a business colleague last night. Service was very efficient and everything we ate was great. We did the lazy man set course for two (called "Dragon") which for about $20 per person came with teriyaki chicken and crab Rangoon appetizers, soup, and two entrees (Mongolian beef and sizzling shrimp). Topped off with fried... More

We came here with a business group for lunch. Service was excellent and the food quality was fresh and well cooked and seasoned. Many luminaries have eaten here including Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, and former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev. I would come again in the future.

We return to Chef Chu's year after year for business events because they do such a great job! It can be a little noisy if your group doesn't take up the entire upstairs for your event but that doesn't stop us from returning - the service and food are that good. Parking can be a challenge but there's plenty in... More

What a great place, we were met with welcome smiles as if we as if we were regulars, this was our first trip. We had two young ones with us and got seated immediately with accommodations made for the little ones to make them comfortable. Service was fast professional and accurate. One of the stand out dishes for me was the... More

I eat here at least once a week. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. Them staff is very friendly and professional. On the weekends make reservations --it is very popular. My go to dishes are the chicken salad, veggie spring rolls, snow whites chicken, yu shang pork, Hong Kong noodles and Beijing beef. For spicy--mar Po tofu, spicy boiled... More

Great food is never a question and portions are fair and sometimes large. Service can be spotty and sometimes uncaring. Other times service is very good. My favorites are the Snow White Chicken and the lamb. Chinese Chicken Salad is great for starter to share or for a healthy lunch. To go is also easy and generally really fast. They... More

This is a classic place. After coming here for over 40 years, I still find the food of good, consistent quality and quantity. It us a bit dated in the decor but that is part of the charm if the place. Mu shu pork was excellent again today. Don't change anything about Chef Chu's!!
