Larry Chu Jr. Is a gracious host and his father is still operating the kitchen in this famous Los Altos restaurant. Wait times can be 30 minutes so make a reservation. General's chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour pork and the pot stickers are family favorites.

Good food, but long lines to get in. Nice menu with good variety. Has been an institution in Mountain View for 20+ years.

Haven't eaten here for a while and was pleasantly surprised it was just as good as I remember. Four adults and four kids sit nicely around a large round table with a lazy Susan in the upstairs section. Note downstairs the tables are smaller. The place was packed as it was a Saturday night. We booked for a 6pm sitting... More

Went in to order take away on what looked like an extremely busy Friday night. Was offered a menu quite promptly and order was taken quickly. Waited about fifteen minutes for the order but I did think it would have taken longer as there were a lot of people both in the restaurant and waiting for take away. The Singapore... More

The ultimate question for any restaurant is whether you'd go back? The answer for Chef Chu's is simply yes! Basil garlic beef was yummy. I maybe ate too much garlic, but that was my choice. ;-)

Been here a couple of times in the last several months, and once it was great, and once it was lousy. They are very inconsistent and when they get busy, their servers start forgetting things. Our server didn't bring our soups and brought the white rice instead of the fried rice we had ordered. The food arrived, and it was... More

This restaurant is very popular with locals and it is one of our favorites when we visit this area. The food is divine. We ordered "The Phoenix" because we had a guest who doesn't like spicy foods and it was good. Left to our own tastes, we would have chosen more exotic dishes.

It is crowded but wait time was less than 5 mins. Food was awesome and upstairs reminds me of authentic Chinese food when I was in Hong Kong. Food was really good. Dumplings were awesome. Tea was hot and very nice on a cold day. I had the Salmon with bean Saudi and was tasty. Wonton soup was very tasty,... More

Always packed, always good, and they do take out too. Vegetarian and vegan options too if you look through the menu. My personal favorite... Chinese chicken salad..
