A very varied menu, covering many different areas of China. Were able to experience some new very delicious dishes as well as some standbys. Enjoyed the food and the evening.

It isn't hard to find a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area ;), so what makes me comment on Chef Chu's? Having had many lunches and dinners here over the years, what stands out is the consistency: the ingredients are of excellent quality, the service is always friendly, accurate and speedy and the food never fails to delight. Hard to... More

My wife used to go to this place 25 years ago. It has grown but the same family runs it. This is just real good Chinese food. Good menu and good service.

Arrived late from an East Coast flight and had dinner at Chef Chu's. The Chinese food was awesome - late night,; great service. Exceptional Chinese food - you can't go wrong with selecting Chef Chu's.

We got to Chef Chu`s at 8:15 and was seated by 8:30 - told to call ahead and put our name on the list - this worked perfectly. The service was fast and food excellent - they have a great operation going on there plus Chef Chu greeted people present which was great

We had a great evening at Chef Chu's celebrating a 50th anniversary with 6 people. We selected several dishes and the waiter was great about serving nice portion sizes for everyone for every dish. We had Won Ton soup, hot & sour soup, chopped chicken salad, mu shu pork, lamb chops, mongolian beef and eggplant. All were wonderful! We will... More

Comparing to most Chinese restaurants, Chef Chu is a very unique one: (1) the restaurant is owned/operated by the same person, Lawrence Chu, for over 40 years from its first day, (2) Lawrence himself is a good cook and yet enjoys interacting directly with his customers, (3) he is also actively involved in community activities, and (4) food there is... After flying in to SFO on Sunday evening we only reached our hotel at 7.30pm then headed out for supper at 8.30pm. Everywhere was closed (!) except for this place and they happily let us in just after 9pm, even though they were closing soonish as well. Admittedly they were our fourth choice, but in the end we were satisfied.... More

I guess this is the place to get Chinese food in the Palo Alto area. The Szechwan beef is very good and the service is very good. The restaurant is kind of small but it has a nice feel to it all. One thing that is interesting to see is all the photos of the famous people that have ate... More

A few of my friends have seen each other for over 10 years. We picked this place for convenience to everyone, and also a change from spicy Sichuan food. The food has been adapted to America but is all right. Service is good.
