This little cafe is a bit off the beaten path but well worth stopping by if you're in the vecinity. My wife and I were on our way to Morro Bay coming from LA, when we got a bit hungry and decided to look for a restaurant to have breakfast before continuing. We were looking for a Denny's off a... This restaurant was recommended by a local as having the best food in town. I didn't sample any other but the food was yummy. I had their cauliflower soup and a wonderful side salad. My husband ordered one of their specialty sandwiches and needless to say- no leftovers. Also, took out wonderful coffee. The restaurant shares space with an art... More

We came here for a lovely breakfast, the bacon rolls and pancakes were very good. We sat outside the café in the very pleasant surroundings of this wonderful American frontier town. There was further seating inside the café, which had a wonderful gallery area. Well worth visiting for the breakfast and a walk around the town.

Quaint little place. Only a few tables and counter service. The food is yummy and staff friendly. Desserts look tasty but too full from the burger.

I love Jesper's lunches. Sit in the gallery and enjoy paintings and a delicious lunch prepared by Jesper.

Four for breakfast. A lovely day to sit under one of the parasols on the open terrasse and enjoy a satisfying and filling breakfast. We had the traditional eggs and bacon and coffees and tea, all of which was savoury. Bacon was crispy and a generous portion. A nice share of fresh fruit. Tasty cappuccino and café au lait. But... My husband and I were staying across the street in the retro motel and wanted someplace local for breakfast. Cafe Quackenbush more than filled the bill. The small dinning room is adjacent to an art museum and the food had an artistic touch that I enjoy in a breakfast sandwich. I would have enjoyed trying something from their lunch menu... More

They pack lovely sandwiches if you are out and about driving and tasting - - and the artwork here was great. Vibrant oils and acrylics - - fun relics. We enjoyed meeting "John" - one of the owners, and our eyes were happy.

Amazing food, creative touches on some basics, then some that are just out of this world! Pulled pork is wonderful, best blue burger I have ever had. The innovative specials never fail to impress, and have always had good service! A MUST when in Los Alamos or passing thru the area!

About 15 years ago my husband and I stumbled on to the Quackenbush Cafe because the local restaurant that we normally had breakfast had closed its doors. At this time it was just a coffee shop ajoining an art gallery. There were only pastries and coffee. When we stated that we wanted more of a breakfast, the chef said he... More
