Came here with my husband and 2 dogs after we hit the dog beach in Long Beach for a late lunch (there are a few tables w/ umbrellas outside to eat your meal). I purchased the large beef pasty with a small chicken gravy for the husband, 1 small veggie pasty for myself and 1 apple pasty for the 2... More

We were driving by this place and my girlfriend said "Look at that!" So, I looked and forty minutes later we were driving looking for a quick bite and we decided to head back to the Pasty Kitchen! We ordered two small chicken pasties and one small beef pasty. We also grabbed a macaroni salad and coleslaw. We are glad... More

I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where the pasty is the local "delicacy", brought over by Cornish miners who came to work in the copper and iron mines. When I moved to LA I missed the delicious meat pies of my childhood memory. Years later I was stunned to hear from a fellow former "Yooper"... More

The pasty kitchen also has a vegetarian pasty which is much better than the cow or chicken. Essentially it is a vegan pasty since their bread has no animal products in it either. Much better for you and the animal that doesn't have to suffer to just to please a human palate.

By far one of the best places to grab a quick and nutritious meal. I always buy four or five of the chicken pasty. I eat one on the patio area, and take the rest home to eat later. They do a great job. You won't be disappointed. Hidden gem category.

I truly love this little gem of a place! The menu is pretty basic, beef or chicken meat pies filled with potato and carrots, as well as cherry and peach pies for dessert. I prefer the chicken pie, but be sure to get gravy for it, as without it the pie is a bit dry. I also always get myself... More

but the chicken can be dangerous. I have found small rib bones in more than one. The beef is good but tastes like the canned corned beef you get from Brazil.. Tasty potatoes in each. Gravy is good to get but they charge a lot for it.

Looking for a quick, inexpensive meal? This place is it. Awesome food at a great price. Be prepared. They only accept cash and there is no eating indoors. Food is awesome, especially the meat pie.

I love this place! Often when I a coming back from Long Beach instead of taking the freeway I will go the long way around just to drop in here. A tasty, complete meal in a delicious crust, that's a Cornish Pasty, reminds me of home. I have not tried their fruit turn-overs yet - I really don't know why... More
