After reading reviews my fiancé and I were craving some sushi and decided to stop here. We arrived here at 1:35pm only to find that the door was locked and had closed sign. I then call and a lady picks up. I ask if their open and she said yes and informed her that the door was locked. She then... More

Had lunch here the other day, which is the time I usually come here. Everything was good and fresh as it usually is. These guys do a nice job so I will definately be back soon.

Kinokawas is a great traditional Japanese restaurant and as soon as you walk in, you'll know why. The decor is very old school and they even have traditional eating rooms with tatami mats if you're so inclined--but don't be weary, there are plenty of tables and a huge sushi bar as well. The prices are reasonable, but not cheap. The... More

Very Japanese; from everyone working there wearing kimonos; to table seating on pillows on the floor; no shoes please. Sushi and Japanese food.

Just ate dinner here tonight after not having been back for about 5 years... just a little out of my way... but after having tried othere Japanese restaurants in my area of Long Beach and beyond, Kinokawa is just the best! The perfect ginger salad dressing, the miso soup...both with just the right textures, consistancy and flavors... the bean sprouts... More

Kinokawa is a place that goes WAY back. Luckily, they have kept it updated and clean but traditionally Japanese in decor. There are several rooms so it feels fairly private no matter where you sit. They are in the California Heights neighborhood at Wardlow and Walnut and have a lot for parking. They have traditional dishes like teriyaki, udon, katsu... More

I have eaten here over 100 times and love it. I brought some business contacts here after they landed their Gulfstream at Long Beach Airport and they loved it. The cedric roll and NEW kinokawa rolls are fantastic. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno in ponzu sauce is great. The C combo special is a lot of food and includes chicken... More
