Worst neighborhood nightmare & unpleasant food to boot

We live in the Tacoma area but have a place in Ocean Park, Wa. where we spend at least a third of our time. We eat at Chen's every week when we are there. The vegetarian chow mien or fried rice are excellent & you always have leftovers.

I love Chen's and the fact that they deliver close by. Their food is yummy and consistently good. I would recommend delivery though as the restaurant is in dire need of updating on the inside. At least new carpet! As far as food, I love their Mongolian Beef and Hot & Sour Soup -- two items you can't go wrong... More

The best Chinese take-out I've found in Long Beach. A little greasy, typical California American Chinese. The veggie sizzling soup is good and comes with crispy little rice-like add ins. Cream cheese wontons and garlic veggies are good as well.

Order one entree and you will have enough food for tomorrows breakfast and lunch. The servings are enormous, and for the most part, very tasty. I do agree with another reviewer, that the frying oil may be a bit overused and stale tasting. But, I try to stay away from deep-fried items--if this is you, then disregard this warning. Beef... A common theme thru the reviews is the large portions - but the quality of the pot stickers wasn't so good - they smelled off. Admittedly, the order of 6 came with 9, so it was bargain, except for the fishy odor. It was a huge serving of salt and pepper chicken, but not spicy as advertised, and was one... More

We enjoyed chen's food very much. They have good size servings and good prices. We didn't take home very much food because we where so hungry and gobbled it up. The people are very nice and had great recommendations for what was good TOO spicy or just ok I would highly recommend them for good night out for Chinese food... More

My pups and I were visiting a friend and her pups in Long Beach, and it was way past lunchtime. I was hungry. She suggested we go to a nearby Chinese restaurant. "It's very good," she said, "but not the best Chinese food you'll ever eat." Except for the banquets I attended in China, she was wrong. When we entered... More

This is the place to enjoy good Chinese food. Portions are big. Food is always good. Wonton soup is my personal favorite. Prices are very reasonable. You won't regret making this a special trip when in the Long Beach area.

I do not eat Chinese food too often, but I really liked Chen's. The orders are enormous and tasted very good. I ordered a spicy dish - Kung Pao Chicken - and it did not disappoint, except that there was NO WAY I could finish it, although I told the server to hold the steamed rice. There were a few... More
