I go to Open Sesame about once a year--which is about how often my craving for Lebanese food strikes. I often get their shawarma and one of the flatbreads and have never been disappointed. The only slightly confusing aspect of the restaurant is that it is split in two and separated by a few other businesses.

The Good. I've eaten here a dozen times, and each time the food was great. Hard to pick something that isn't delicious, and the waiters are helpful if you have questions. There are "two" locations separated by a few hundred feet for NOW. Rumor has it they are taking over the store front separating the two locations; if that does... More

Definitely someplace I like to go. Food is excellent! Lamb is yummy, the potatoes with garlic, lemon and cilantro is TDF. I took a star away for the following: The wait, the tight proximity of tables (I hate it when people have to nudge by my table, don't you?). I know the wait is expected at a good restaurant and... we dined here on a cold and rainy night in late December based on a friends recommendation. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, fresh and inventive. The fried cauliflower, spicy potato's and babagnoush were delicious. We had the combo skewers with the chicken being our favorite but all were great and we also had the... More

Four of us ate here last night and it was excellent. It is a very tiny place with both inside and outside seating. We had reservations for 5 pm or we would have been waiting. The food is Lebanese, middle eastern type. Each couple split a Sultan plate that had lamb chops, shrimp, and beef with rice and salads adn... More

Food is outstanding!!! Parked 6 blocks away ... But worth every step. Very cramped inside and weird layout due to restaurant being combined with adjacent building space. This is the best lebanese food I've ever had. You must try the Hummus appetizer (with beef shawarma) ... Amazing. And the fried potatoes unbelievable... Just bursting with flavor ... Especially the garlic.... More

I grew up eating Lebanese food. It seemed to me that each relative that made it did so with the result slightly different. NEVER did I enjoy it as much as I did this meal. The food preparation is outstanding in every way. That said: This restaurant has expanded twice in its fifteen years. It started out in a modest... More

I love this place. The food is great and the service is friendly. There is usually a wait but it is totally worth it. The baba ganoush and tabbouleh are the best around. There are several other mediterranean restaurants in Belmont Shore but Open Sesame is hands down the most authentic and has a welcoming atmosphere. It has a small... More

Living in London we are very spoilt when it comes to middle eastern food with excellent high quality stuff available on every street. So it was with a degree of skepticism that we entered open sesame, particularly as its a really cramped space and we were a group of 10! Anyway in we went and were given a table outside,... More

I chose this restaurant thanks to the reviews on TripAdvisor and wasn't disappointed. We came early, got a table on the terrace, and enjoyed lovely starters and entrees with a sweet Lebanese white wine. I had the spicy humous, the crispy potatoes and the combo kebob - definitely a good choice. A little expensive perhaps, but you're paying for the... More
