So glad I stopped...........reccommended by local diner

I was in the area for work, and had stopped by another place to pick up some items before my return trip home to North Carolina. I asked for dinner recommendations for local flavor and he said Open Sesame was one of his favorites, and close. Once you get passed the parking issues in downtown... read more

This place is one of the best middle Eastern restaurants I have ate at in the United States. It's in the beautiful area of Long Beach called Belmont shore on 2nd street. I'm deducting the star because their pitas are not that fresh or good I'm surprised they don't make their own pita in the house

I have yet to have a bad meal here. Everything from the salads, to meats, to hummus, soups, vegetarian plates-all wonderful! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the ambiance is pretty but often crowded and loud with inconsistent service. By far one of my favorite restaurant to eat in or to go. My kids love it... If you don't mind the noise and the surrounding environment - the stereotype California Beach City version of Yuppieville - this place may suit you just fine. The food is definitely a cut above average for Middle Eastern Cuisine. Open Sesame is noisy enough you need to raise your voice to converse. The food is mostly pretty good. The Kibbeh... More

We went for lunch because of the reviews. Ordered the lamb kabob meal and falafel appetizer. Neither one were outstanding. The kabob was overcooked and the falafel was boring. Asked for water with no lemon and when the water came, no lemon but had some lemon remnants floating and a lemon seed sitting in the bottom. Excellent service other than... More

Fresh ingredients and amazing food. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Long Beach. Expect to wait in line during peak hours.

Aaaaamazing food. Everything is fresh and made to order. Their Falafel is to die for and I told them to make sure it's not too salty (because of hypertension) and they made it perfectly!!! This is a must for anyone that loved middle eastern food and also vegans/vegetarians. must try!!!

The food is so tasty but the portion sizes have decreased over the years...service is pretty hit or miss most nights...wait times can be close to an hour on date nights or during special events... Open sesame combo is a fan favorite...their babaganush is amazing...the garlic sauce is to die for...

Open Sesame is in my top 5 restaurants of all time(and I have been to many countries). The food is excellent. The service is always top notch. The staff is very attentive. You can not go wrong with anything you get, even down to the olive appetizer. This is a must visit while in Long Beach!

Friendly and helpful staff to explain these Lebanese dishes. Succulent lamb kabobs & sea bass that melted to the touch. We need to return to sample more.
