Great view, great food, long wait

Saw this on Food Network's Triple D. So.... Be prepared to wait as others saw it too. Nice view from restaurant, waterfront dining. Food choices are diverse with breakfast selections being nothing short of amazing . Try any of the egg benedict dishes.

First time visiting Schooner! Good service wonderful breakfast! My husband had bacon, mushroom and cheese omelette and I had the blueberry pancakes with sausage. Thursday morning and it was crowded so good sign it having good food, big portions! Lovely view prompt service. Definitely recommend it and will be back with our family.

My husband and I decided to try lunch the other day at Schooner of Later. We previously had only enjoyed lunch. My husband order the patty melt and enjoyed it (he said he wished he had ordered one to go). I tried the chicken nachos. They were a little different but tasty. We both enjoyed our meals and I think... More

No reservations accepted. Waited an hour and a half for a table for a small group Saturday, after lunch peak. Mostly junk food aside from breakfast. Nothing special or tasty. Pretty good service at table.

Schooner or Later is a popular, busy place. We love their breakfasts, which are delicious, hot and reliably great. I've had their pancakes and many of their egg dishes, all satisfying and tasty with generous portions. There is always a wait so the best thing is to have one of their famous Bloody Marys, which are huge with more than... More

Considering the hour long wait (it can be worse), I'd have to say this place was NOT worth it. Sure, they have a great location, but the food is average (even greasy), and the service was very poor. Our large group's plates were delivered with so much finesse we thought they were going to break them. I know they're busy,... More

I went for a late lunch close to their closing time. Before I seated myself I did inquire if they were still serving. I chose the half soup and sandwich meal which was the meatloaf sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. Unfortunately I received my check before I even received my food. My soup had more celery than anything else in... More

We choose to eat a late lunch at Schooner or Later based on the recommendation from the Food Network for a close restaurant, on our way up Hwy 1 from Newport Beach to Santa Monica. We had not seen the episode of Diners, Drive Ins & Dives that features this restaurant, but it was a good choice! We had some... More

My husband and I went here for breakfast last week on a Tuesday. We both really enjoyed our meals. He ordered the spinach omelet, french toast, hash browns. I had the corn beef hash banana nut muffin and fruit. Everything was very good. The fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice were refreshing. We were surprised by how much spinach... More
