first time in long beach. we were there for a wedding and the entire family went there for dinner. (bride and groom like to take any visitors to this place). the place is tiny and quaint. the food was excellent and our service was top notch! we had one of the best waiters i've encountered in a LONG time. the... My partner heard great things about this small bistro style cafe in Long Beach. Website depicted several tasty choices for both of us (she's a carnivores, I'm strict vegetarian). We made reservations for an early Sat. dinner, arrived a little late but no problem were promptly seated, very crowded which is usually a good sign. Waitress came to take our... More

Driving through downtown LB, I remembered seeing the cafe on "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives." Found its location on the Internet and was there in a jiffy (2 blocks from Roscoe's). Very limited seating, so I was glad I was there for lunch; I believe I wouldn't have gotten a seat right away had I come for dinner. Anyway, the food... More

What I experienced just now in their restaurant I have never even witnessed in my 35 years of living in Southern California. Upon walking in I was told to sit anywhere that's clean. I understand that they didn't have a hostess but to be told to by Cesar the waiter to sit anywhere that's clean, means that you could care... More

Was visiting from out of town and my colleagues recommended this place. Got there around 5:30 pm on a Wed and had no problems getting a table without a reservation. I had a salad with avocado that was definitely not overdressed. One of the specials of the day was beef short rib with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef short... More

There is no atmosphere, and it is not family friendly (thankfully). However, the food is absolutely delicious, the specials are plentiful and mouth-watering, the prices are very fair and, most of all, the small well-selected wine list is extremely kindly priced. It's obvious that the restaurant cares about customers who care about good food.

I walked 5 miles RT to get here, was disappointed. Fruit plate was terrific, pasta salad was dry and overloaded with seasoning and had tiny bit of shredded cheese on top. Lemonade was yellow water. Bathroom was dirty, echoed by gal before me. Service was ok, friendly. Restaurant clean enough.

I don't see how At Last Cafe can be rated # 3 in Long Beach, but then I don't get how several others in LB get top ratings when there are much better restaurants here. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't stellar by a long shot. Our meals were average, at best. I absolutely would not... More

I have dined here four times and haven't been disappointed. Although I learned about At Last from Guy Fieri's show, I don't hold that against the place. :-) The place is tiny so make a reservation. The parking situation (on-street neighborhood parking is the only option) can be difficult. I allow myself ten minutes just to get from wherever I... More
