Looking for what Zagat found to be worthy of a great rating!

We had reservations for an early dinner so took the cab ride from the Hyatt and it was farther than expected but that was ok. We each ordered a quartino of red wine which was nice for the meal. We started with the Carciofi E Caprino which was good...maybe a little heavy on the goat cheese. We... read more

I went back to Michael's this week since I wanted to validate my opinion from the first visit. I think the food here is over-rated and over-priced. This time I ordered the prosciutto & fig, and zuppa di pesce (seafood soup). The antipasto had mainly figs with tiny pieces of prosciutto. More like figs with prosciutto - very disappointing. The... Foodies we, the Zagat rating got us there the 1st time-- and we were wowed, such a delight. Where to start: bar, sublime, an array of the newest potions, blends to try of this & that's, exciting. Bar munchies -- perfection. Then up on the roof. Another "Wow". Menu was exquisite, each dish we tasted a truly special execution using... More

It could not have been any worse--but it was. An inattentive and argumentative waitress...screaming diners who drowned out the room...1 1/2 hour from sit down to first course...a manager who not once came by to inquiry about our service or food...halibut only half cooked--sent back and arrived at our table the second time around half cooked--Michael's Pasta--supposedly a signature pasta... This was a fun night out for us! We decided to walk from Long Beach to Naples to enjoy a romantic dinner on our last night in Long Beach! It was an hour walk through Long Beach, Belmont Shores into Naples where we got to see the scene of the locals and enjoy the shops along the way. Once at... More

If the massive crowds on 2nd Street aren't your cup of tea, try Michael's. It's just over the bridge into Naples. The service was impeccable. Their regular table water is filtered and delicious. There's a modest but diverse wine list. The two reds we tried were very good values. The pizzas were a bit pricey but good. During the day... More

We were impressed by the good menu selection and sourcing of the ingredients. Our attentive server explained the background to the restaurant and also about any dishes we were interested in. We were not disappointed with our choices. Food was well cooked, not over seasoned and with a good combination of flavours. It arrived hot and well presented. Will definitely... More

we've been to michael's several times but hadn't been there recently until my wife's birthday this week. if anything, it's improved. what are the things that characterize a good restaurant? to me, it's not seeing the same basic menu's that are featured by quite a few "high end" restaurants, good food preparation and service to match. michael's delivers on all... The Roof top bar(small) is a great place to stop in the evening hours to have a glass of wine and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is relaxing but it is a fine dining restaurant and the dress is more on the formal side. We plan to return.

We read good reviews on Michaels so we decided to give it a try. The servers were extremely attentive. They explained the philosophy of the restaurant. Perhaps a little too much... The food was good, but not great. Portions are small. My strip steak was tiny and came to the table cold. The much advertised almond cake was covered in... More
