Roof top bar/dining

The Roof top bar(small) is a great place to stop in the evening hours to have a glass of wine and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is relaxing but it is a fine dining restaurant and the dress is more on the formal side. We plan to return.

We read good reviews on Michaels so we decided to give it a try. The servers were extremely attentive. They explained the philosophy of the restaurant. Perhaps a little too much... The food was good, but not great. Portions are small. My strip steak was tiny and came to the table cold. The much advertised almond cake was covered in... More

We had heard great things about this restaurant and decided to get a car over from the Cruise Terminal. The food was fine, not amazing, but good. Poor lighting. Our waiter was pretentious. I had the rissoto with lobster, my husband the steak.. absolutely nothing to write home about and spendy for what we got.

It is one thing to praise a restaurant after a great meal, or as is occasionally the case on the blogosphere, to knock one after a bad meal. But the true test of a restaurant is how well the establishment performs year after year. Michael's earns five stars five years ago and five stars now, AND hopefully five stars five... More

The food, ambiance and service were fabulous. We loved the creative presentation of the food and the gourmet flavors and creative combinations. I found the restaurant on Yelp and it lived up to it's reputation. In fact, I can not wait to go there again in June with my husband again.

The food is very tasty and creative here. However, the service is lacking. Part of our party was seated when we arrived. Instead of walking us to our table they just waved their hand in the air and pointed upstairs. Everything was slow in coming ours drinks, our bread, our wine and our dinners. We were served our dinner one... More

Four of us had the chef's tasting with wine pairings. First, though, we ate on the second level, which is out-of-doors with a canvas covering over half the roof, very nice. Our wait staff were mostly great, although when the runners brought our dishes, they said what they were so quickly that we didn't have time to pay attention. First... More

Our first visit to this fine Italian restaurant; we really enjoyed the pasta tasting menu and the almond cake for dessert. Fabulous! Outstanding in every way, and a knowledgeable server enhanced the experience. Best Italian restaurant for miles around.

Once again we were back in Long Beach and had the opportunity to return to dine at Michael's with friends. The sommelier suggested a lovely Italian wine which was excellent. Food was still outstanding as was the service. Really appreciated being able to talk without having to shout...a nice change from many restaurants. All in all, a wonderful evening.
