Very pricey! A little snobby. The food is worth at least on trip. I've been once and am still debating if its worth a return trip. Several of my friends like it a lot. It has fantastic reviews.

Nice neighborhood upscale trattoria atmosphere. Chic. We started with some great stuffed zucchini flowers. The pastas are fresh. I enjoyed the cavatelli with pork; my wife had the green lasagna. The latter was a little dry; nicely cooked layers of lasagna, but it could have used a little béchamel or ricotta between the layers. We had a pair of small... More

This is a fine Italian restaurant. The pastas are all home made, the choices are intriguing, the ingredients are fresh. The wine list is a treat to read, with an extensive listing of Italian wines cleverly arranged from north to south along the Italian peninsula. The service was a bit uneven and the room seemed a bit too crowded for... More

We have dined at Michael's several times, always wonderful. We like to enjoy 4 courses, we share menu items and in most cases the kitchen is very accommodating. Calamari was a rare miss, crunchy and cold and not much calamari to begin with. Bread was okay, not special. I remember it being very good on previous visits. The pasta with... More

It was our turn to host 2 very good friends for dinner. We decided to go to Long Beach take in some art and then dinner on a Sunday. Based on ratings we picked Michael's and made a 5:30 PM reservation. We arrived at 5:20 and they were not seating until 5:30 so we went upstairs to the bar. Very... More

My son and I went to Michael's on Naples island on 2nd street last Thursday. Our Server, Lester suggested the Stone IPA known as Stochasticity and Beeradvicate Great Divide. Having good beers on tap like these makes it just that more flavorful. Added to that, we split a Michael's insalata for a starter - yes, more than enough for two.... More

I've been to Michael's many times and each time is better than the last. Occasionally, I've had to wait for a table, but the two bar areas are terrific. The bartenders always satisfy. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. They treat everybody with respect and kindness no matter how you're dressed (I sometimes I show up extremely casual). The... More

I had been wanting to dine at Michael’s and finally had the opportunity when we were invited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. After valet parking our car for a $4 charge, we entered into the small reception area, bar, and dining room. Our table for 8 was located in the middle of the room with little space from other tables.... More

Excellent Northern Italian restaurant on Naples Island in Long Beach. Delicious homemade pastas melted in our mouths. Cocktails and wine were delicious. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful in making our selections. His humor completed his service. We ate in the dining area by the bar. It was perfect. The noise level was moderate but we could easily have... More

The food and ambiance are quite good. What was disconcerting was the check which included a bottle of wine we hadn't ordered. Was it the wait person, Joanne, who hoped we wouldn't notice? Or is it the policy of the restaurant to up charge when possible? What could have been an excellent experience was something much less.
