Three of us went for lunch and what a delight. The décor is so Retro and a lot of fun. The owner was so gracious and when we asked if we could take some photos he said of course. The food and service were great. Maybe not the best I have ever eaten but freshly made and yummy. It did... More

this place has to be a front for something other than food. I had lunch there one time and during the whole hour i was there I was the only customer. The food was horrible. strange place, like the set of a Quentin Tarrantino movie.

Family style Chinese. Lot's of food. Reasonablly priced. Average taste. Wonderful facade and kitchy interior. Owner became suspicious when I tried to take a picture of the interior. Kinda freaked me out. Not up to stanadards to Chinese food found in Chinatown L.A., but edible. Good for large famlies.

We wanted to grab lunch in Lompoc and drove by the Rice Bowl. It had a great retro look to it and I figured it was the kind of chow mein house that I grew up with. Americanized Chinese food that was not authentic, but still full of flavor and has it's own unique menu items and good tastes. It... More

I first went to the Rice Bowl with my parents in 1960! My favorites are still egg foo young and sweat & sour pork!

I dined alone for lunch during a week day visit to Lompoc. I got the Chicken Almond with fried brown rice and eggroll. I also ordered a pot of green tea. The meal was more than I could eat at one setting and was only ten dollars. I took the left overs with me and had them for supper (so... More

This is one of the funkiest, oddest spots and it's worth going inside, but just don't eat there. Be forewarned - go but only to check the joint out. Order a soda or something safe. My friend and I went there a couple of times just for this reason, because it's such a fun social study. When you walk in... More

I wanted to take my man to a quality chinese restaurant. I was sooo embarrassed. The food was SLOP. I was asked if I liked scallions, I said yes Biig mistake. My food was covered in them. As we got ready to leave with our food. We noticed baby cockroaches on the counter. GROSS!!

I absolutely love asian food. And love is a gross understatement. So, when my beloved and I had a chance to go out to a nice dinner we were on the hunt for a good- no, GREAT chinese place. Since we had just moved to Lompoc, CA and didn't really know the area and it's restaurants, we called a friend... More

Some people in Lompoc love this place, but my wife and I were not impressed at all. It has a funky 50's diner atmosphere for a Chinese restaurant, but the food was seriously lacking. My wife and I had a chicken chow mein dish that was covered with a flavorless, corn starch goo which had been scorched. We made an... More
