Coffee and a cough?

I was there on 6.24.15 and the waitress was "sick." Coughed all over everyone's order, including mine! Not good.

I ordered a turkey sandwich, and the turkey seemed more like the low-quality, pressed kind of deli meat. The cranberry sauce was a nice touch, and the bread was of decent quality. I did not enjoy the pumpkin custard. My daughter also had a turkey sandwich that was lackluster. My husband ordered a shrimp pasta that seemed rather boring and... More

The Railroad Cafe has the old time diner feel I remember from my childhood. The staff is super cordial. I came with a group of over a dozen people and with no warning. They still managed to sit us together and wrangled all our orders with little trouble. The benefit of dining with a large group is that you get... More

This is uninspired food of the kind I'd expect to find on some state highway in the hinterlands - far from any farms. No hint of flavor. Not even sure they had whole wheat bread as an option, and certainly not something with nutrition hiding in there. There's nothing local on the plate, and no hint that there is agriculture... More

Whenever I am in Livermore, I always try to have breakfast at the Railroad Cafe. The menu has a lot of diversity; their puff pastry versions of things like eggs Benedict are highlights. Usually I have basics like ham and eggs. They are well prepared and you get a lot of value for the price. I tried the pancakes once... More

We have been eating here for over 25 yrs. The food is always fresh and prepared wonderfully. Have never had a bad meal.. Lately we have gone for dinner and their evening menu has wonderful choices with the same quality as breakfast and lunch.

I would have given this place 2 1/2 stars if possible since its not the absolute worse place I have been. Stopped on our way back from San Francisco. Yelp gave this restaurant rave reviews. Not sure why. We arrived on a busy morning. We walked in and I immediately noticed a funky smell and later realized that it was... More

This is one of my favorite places to eat, great menu with all sorts of unique items. The serve homemade bread (pumpkin bread is AWESOME), breakfasts, lunch and main course meals. My favorites are the Benedicts (a few to choose from), omelettes, sandwiches (which are all unique) and soup. The chef is very creative and the food is always delicious!

We stopped in town to get gas on our way home from a San Jose weekend trip. While in town, we decided to grab an early lunch and chose this place based on the reviews. It wasn't very busy when we arrived and there were several booths and tables available. The hostess asked if we wanted a booth and we... More

We've eaten here since they were located on Railroad Avenue. We preferred the ambiance at the place on Railroad, but the food and service are still exceptional. Always fresh foods, and the breakfasts are quite unique. Delicious! Lunches are basically comfort foods, but also quite tasty.
