Found Coops BBQ on Trip Advisor, decided to give it a try. What a great find. Like another reviewer, We usually eat BBQ at Phils, but Coops is a cut above. The pulled pork was to die for, tender and smoky. The baked beans were too good. Can't wait to take my son for ribs. Great music selection.

If you're in the San Diego area you must go here and get barbecue!! The pulled pork is amazing. Great staff and ribs were delicious. Barbecue had that amazing smoky flavor. Yummy!

I used to swear by Phil's, but after trying Coops, I think this might be my go-to BBQ in SD! A regular recommended the jerk chicken so we tried it as well as the brisket and ribs. The smoky flavor and sauce were phenomenal. The beans were excellent too. Well worth the drive from La Jolla.

The meat just melts in your mouth and the smoky flavor and sauce are to die for! We usually get take-out. I love the beans too.

Coops BBQ does it the right way... slow cooking in a pit, no BBQ sauce added to hide the meat flavor... the sides are delicious (don't forget to try the red beans & rice!)... and the desserts, especially the peach cobbler, end your meal the right way!!!

It's on my very short 'Best Of' list, and Coop's West Texas BBQ easily has a spot. It's well off the beaten path, but worth a visit for some savory eats and warm hospitality. It was a great experience when I first visited Coop's a few years ago after they opened up shop and it's still great today. I ALWAYS... More

We got a few pounds of meat to go. The brisket and rib tips are so yummy! ! I highly recommend this place. The gal at the counter was helpful in determining how much I needed for the number of guests I had. She made sure I had enough sauce and then thanked me for choosing Coops. I will be... More

I have visited this restaurant different times, and the food has always been good. While visiting, a few suggestions were given to me, on the food and the desserts, which are always great.
