Came all the way from Australia to try Coops BBQ & wasn't disappointed. Tried the Beef ribs, Brisket sandwich & Jerk Chicken sandwich and loved them all. Great service as well.

This tiny little place doesn't have much seating, so you'd better be prepared to take it out or share a table. I've found that all you have to do is ask, and most people are happy to share. Get to know someone new! But I digress... This is REAL Bar-B-Que, not just sauce poured over cooked meat like one of... More

The jerk chicken is so moist and juicy. Not too spicy. Cut up pieces of beautifully smoked chicken thigh. Mmmm. Very good! I have had all the meats; brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken. It is all soo good. The red beans and rice are a little spicy, and are quite good. My 95 year old Grandma loves the collard greens.... More

I really enjoy eating here. Staff is always great. Brisket and jerk chicken are always really good. I get the same quality experience with every visit. I rarely use sauce on their meat because it's just not needed. The potato salad and slaw are my favorite sides. The corn bread is pretty good also. I have found that some people... More

Move over Phil's; there's a new BBQ place in Town!! My son and I ate at Coop's on March 19, 2014 after first going to Phil's where the line was out the door and half way down the restaurant. We had read the Yelp review and thought we would give Coop's at try. Best thing that ever happened was the... More

One thing that is difficult to find in San Diego is great brisket. This place is the real thing, Texas style BBQ with the flavors, smell and ambiance you expect from a BBQ place. Melt in your mouth food with friendly service!

Split the 6-meat with a co-worker so we could try almost everything. Top notch across the board with the possible exception of the smoked sausage. Possibly the best pulled pork I've had, some of the best brisket and beef ribs and the hot link was excellent. I have bbq everywhere I travel and I rank this among the best I've... More

We were in San Diego for a wedding and Coops catered our lunch the day after. I assure you that this is the best barbecue in San Diego. I've tried several other spots. The ribs were yummy. Everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend them for events that require catering!!!
