I have visited this restaurant different times, and the food has always been good. While visiting, a few suggestions were given to me, on the food and the desserts, which are always great.

Juicy, fall off the bone bbq ribs, brisket as tender as you can get with that wonderful smokey flavour and smoked pink ring makes this the real deal. Super red beans and rice and friendly staff make this the best damn Q west of Texas.

Coops is by far one of the best BBQ joints in town. It serves authentic BBQ and delicious side dishes without the glitz of places like Phil's. As one who went to college in West Texas, I've had my share of amazing down-home BBQ....this is better. The meat is fresh and smoked fresh daily. I know this as a fact... More

The food here is really delicious for Lemon Grove however it's pricey. The average cost of a plate is about $15...I ordered the rib plate and also tried their tri-tip. Their portions are okay, it would be nice if they gave you just a little more but I guess it's the cost of running a business.

I found out about this place via the Washington Post. Thought I have to try it when I come to San Diego. I was not disappointed, the food is smoked and cooked to perfection, the staff are very friendly, in fact the owner came over and chatter to us as they could not believe that a Brit and a Saffa... Coops BBQ is awesome. They make their own sauces and don't slather the meat with sauce. They let you put it on yourself. The meat is cooked just perfectly and their is no burnt edges like in other places. Their brisket is so tender and delicious and the pulled pork is to die for. The sides are amazing like red... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we have a fairly close option nearby if we crave BBQ. We got take out and the food was off the hook ! We ordered beef brisket sandwich, the pulled pork sandwich and some pork ribs. The homemade coleslaw was ehhh. My only complaint is that they forgot to put the cornbread... More
