We stopped here as a break on the drive to Eureka to see the Redwoods. It is probably one of the more interesting places I have been. You can get a decent burger along with oil for the car, bottle of wine, Chinese checkers for the kids and a book to read. I guess when you are in the middle... More

My husband and I stopped to eat here on our way back to San Francisco after a few days exploring the redwoods parks and northern cal. We were starving and were having a hard time finding anywhere to eat. I'm so glad we found this place! I had a chicken sandwich and my husband got a burger. Both were excellent... More

Since its the only eatery in town it could be an overpriced dive with disgusting food. Instead, it's exactly the opposite. The menu of sandwiches and salads is simple but the freshness and quality show that somebody back in the kitchen really cares. The seating is picnic tables outdoors. There is a stage for performances. A handful of locals are... More

Stopped here for a bite for lunch after we drove in from the coast and Fort Bragg. We each ordered a deli sandwich. You select your own ingredients. They were Very Large sandwiches! My wife had to save half of hers for later. Very good sandwiches. A must stop.

We had the broiled oysters with garlic bread and they were delicious. They have a wonderful outdoor seating area and we were able to watch the football game too!

We stopped here while traveling on a motorcycle trip. They have GREAT burgers and good cold beer. They have a big monster bus parked out front and a stage in the seating area. The store has an interesting collection of items. It's a fun place to stop and eat.

The burgers were really awesome. My wife is sensitive to spices & found her burger has more seasoning than she'd have liked. I was perfectly happy. No fries, if that is important to you. Very basic, outdoor picnic table seating only. The convenience store is full of cool, funky souvenirs, as well as the stuff that tourists forget & always... More

We had both sandwiches and hamburgers which were all very good. Nice lunch stop. Looks like they might have entertainment. Friends went for dinner and enjoyed it.

As you prepare to zoom through Leggett (3 hours from the Bay Area and 1 hour 45 minutes from Eureka), you'll see an outdated police car alongside a grocery store. I am on this road all too much, and my favorite place to stop is The Peg House which consists of a general store, an outside grill and patio, and... More

Classic road stop with a funky store and an covered, outdoor eating area with a garden and a stage. We had the tri tip sandwich, Chicken Sandwich, and the Classic Cheeseburger...all were fantastic! It is a little pricey, as the meals averaged ~ $12 each, but definitely worth a stop if you are staying in the area or passing through.
