Anyone that stops at a gas station "deli" knows they are not in for a white table cloth experience. At the same time, you would never expect what you get at this stop. The menu is eclectic, the staff is friendly, offering information on their menu items as well as suggestions. We have tried many of their meals, and have... more
After a recommendation from a coworker and rave reviews on TA, we decided to make it a point to stop by and see what all the hype was about. After a 2 day stay in Yosemite, we drove over Tioga Pass to spend the 3rd night of our road trip in Lee Vining and stopped here for dinner. Since we... more
My family stayed in Lee Vining 2 days and ate at the Whoa Deil 2 times. We had blackened sashimi and venison cutlets-excellent! We were lucky enough to be there on a Monday and Tuesday so not busy at all. For those visiting at busier times, relax and wait-you will not regret it. more
I rated this above average, but for me it was excellent - reason for rating is I know that the Whoa Nelli Deli can get busy and there can be a wait to order/get food/ find a place to sit. We had seen a TV show that talked about the Whoa Nelli and decided to try it out. We were... more
My wife and I had our first trip to the infamous "mobile mart" in June 2007. Our friends had told us the stories and kept us intrigued with the thought of getting a tank of gas and a full restaurant style meal all in one shot. Well, we were even more impressed than we thought we would be. Talk about... more

The setup is that you pick your drink from the gas station's mini-mart, then stand in line to place your order--over 15 minutes in our case on a Thursday evening. Then you go outside and hope you can find a seat, while one of you stays inside to... more
This place is in an unusual setting but the food is fabulous and the best in the area. On our way from Bridgeport to Bishop we stopped by to try the food, mainly because of the great reviews that we had read on TA. Definitely worth a stop! more
We ate here on a recent Friday night while in the area largely due to the positive reviews posted in the TA forum. It was rather crowded with tourist and I think quite a few locals. It's a very interesting set-up. You order and get your food as if it is a deli but the dinner menu was like a... more
Before going into Yosemite, we filled up the car and our bellies. Breakfast was a smoked trout omelet with some of the best skillet potatoes I've ever had. Service was very friendly and the place was incredibly clean. This is a gas station? So good we came back after Yosemite for dinner. Mango Margaritas, ribs the size of home plate,... more
