My father-in-law and his wife took us here after a day of exploring the Mono Lake / Tioga Pass area, and I was really very pleasantly surprised to by the Historic Mono Inn. When we pulled in, we were a little before the dinner rush, so there was only one car in the parking lot (and I immediately started thinking,... More

This is one of the best 'hidden gems' we've found! Absolutely stunning views of Mono Lake. Service was professional yet friendly & helpful. The food was fantastic! The Peppercorn Flat Iron steak was cooked to perfection, moist, tender and unbelievably delicious. The Elk Burger with Bleu Cheese & Caramelized Onion on a brioche bun was heavenly. And the Cardamom Creme... More

My husband and I dined here this week while on a hiking trip to the June Lakes area. We are both vegetarians and often have difficulty finding any, let alone delicious, meals when we are out of a large metropolitan area. This place was a gem! We had reservations and were seated immediately at a window table overlooking Mono Lake.... More

We love this restaurant and try to visit it every year. The menu is simple gourmet and you need to plan on $50 person. This year we took 19 people. Everyone was happy with their selection and wine menu, but the service was slow and irregular. Some people were served way before others…..it might have been the size of the... More

Pretty cool to overlook Mono Lake while eating dinner. Nice menu, prices what you would expect. My server was really nice, but it was clear that it was the end of the day. Although the sign out front said open until 9:00, when I arrived at 8:20 I was immediately informed that the kitchen would be closing at 8:30. I... More

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and wanted to pass on the great tip. The Inn was a great find. Fine dining in Lee Vining. We had BBQ wild boar ribs and lamb chops, both done to perfection. Nice, reasonably priced wine selection to go with the meal. If we lived nearby, we would dine here every week. Very... More

We returned to the Mono Inn again this year on the Fourth of July weekend--the 5th-- and were treated to an incredible view and fine dinner. My son and his fiancé and friends joined us. All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. The view and ambiance are the best! We did not want to leave our table on the deck when... More

The owners might know wines. The wine list is extensive. We weren't looking for wine; we were looking for a good meal. Unfortunately, the food is just ok and overpriced. Service isn't very professional or friendly. Overall experience was far from excellent.

Off the beaten path but worth every mile logged. Brothers, Chris & Jim craft creative meals and boutique wines. Don't be shy to ask for food suggestions and definitely be open to trying an unrecognized wine. During the slow season the brothers travel to Napa to sample and buy lessor known wines. Entrées include as much local fare as possible.... More
