We were on the way to Dana Point and hungry after a day's drive. Typical diner chain food and service, nothing special, nothing bad.

Not being from the area we were driving around the Laguna Hills mall looking for an entrance when we came across this diner tucked away at the back of the mall. We were seated quickly. Everyone was very friendly and smiling. The place was very busy and had a great 50's feel. There were many healthy menu options. Several airplanes... More

Good honest American food at a good price. We enjoyed the burgers. The service was quick if you are short of time.

Went to the one on Balboa Island...don't really care for eating overpriced, so/so food on paperplates. Staff was attentive and very friendly though.

I have been going to Ruby's for many years, this location and others. I still like the burgers but I think breakfast has gone down hill. Overall I am not sure the quality is still there. This does not keep me from going at least twice every time I am back in So. Cal.

Kids love Ruby's and will eat well there. Also good selections for grown ups whether you just want a good burger and fries or if you're wanting a healthier selection, Ruby's accommodates.

Good hamburgers, hand spun shakes, and I liked the Chinese Chicken Salad (I think that is what it was called).

Have eaten at other Ruby's Diners in Ca and the food has been great but this one was a disappointment, arrived about 9pm and we just had the burger and fries, the burger was only so so and the fries were cold and the coffee was only luke warm, didn't use the restroom as it hadn't been serviced in in some time-this eating... Step into the 50's. Went during breakfast but had burgers. The Saturn burger was ok. I would go with the regular cheeseburger next time. Wanted to try the shake but kinda pricey just like the meal. Spent just under $40 for 3 adults.

While it may be busy on Tuesday nights - parents get relief in their checkbook. Balloon guy usually works the tables for tips - so your kids get a sword balloon to take home for a couple bucks. They have kobe beef sliders that are mighty tasty!
