Many different friends had told me about this place… We call it a "Vietnamese" restaurant… But it is far, far from that! It is an absolutely creative experience. Went to this restaurant after reading about it in Orange Coast Magazine. The menu is very eclectic and breakfast items are out of the box for sure. (Mac & Cheese with some egg and other ingredients anyone?) The décor of the restaurant is simple, the presentation of the food quite nice, service was attentive, but overall, I would not go... More

If you want predictable, go to Denny's. If you want a very creative mix of fresh ingredients, expertly prepared and presented, go to Break of Dawn in Laguna Hills, CA. There were so many great dishes on the menu, we not only made our selection for this first visit, but already made our choices for the second visit! I had... More

French Toast Creme Brulee---mexican chocolate and coconut custard, raisin and cinnamon brioche, caramel-chocolate sauce... $16...You can see this is not the usual but the unusual example of many different cultures of food fused together...and you cannot modify the ingredients per disclaimer at bottom of menu. $4 charge for split checks also. The place is packed on a Sunday morning. You... More

It's hard to describe this fantastically creative menu - except to say that my tastebuds are still craving my amazing breakfast. This exclusive (as in very limited hours) dining experience isn't for the meek or cheap diner. I was treated to breakfast by my foodie employer - and when I first looked at the breakfast menu, I though that I... More

Don't expect ordinary but do expect creative and delicious. This is the place I take my jaded LA friends who think there is no good food in the OC. they are always so surprised at how great BREAK OF DAWN IS.
