Excellent food

We planned to eat at Cucina Alessa around 5:30 before heading to Pageant of the Masters. We were a group of 4 and the restaurant doesn't take reservations for parties less than six. We arrived early, were seated immediately. For appetizers we chose Olive Fritte, a mildy battered fried green olive. Delicious. The fried calamari were tender and tasty. The... More

We love the food here. The restaurant does such a good business though that everyone is crammed in, it is difficult to even get up from your table. Because they have so many tables in such a small space and turn them over frequently the service is not so good. Had to ask the waitstaff for things repeatedly.

As great as ever. We look forward to the Festival as an excuse to drive up from San Diego and eat here. This is our third year in a row and the food is as we remember. Hot and delicious. The Butternut Squash and Brown Button Ravioli are a bite of Heaven.

Linguini with clams? Delicious. Spaghetti? Three enormous meatballs with a nice sauce. So, what's not to like? For one thing, the tables were very close, and we felt as if we were sitting in a row on an airplane. And like on an airplane, we were naturally sitting next to someone who never stopped talking. Loudly. Not sure how she... More

Lovely atmosphere although sitting under one of the fountains on the outdoor porch got us a little wetter than we might have liked. The food was delicious and the service was very good. Loved my pasta (with seafood) and the marinated olives to start were very tasty.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here during our stay in Laguna and personally, I had high expectations because of the crowds that were waiting for tables and because of the prices, however my expectations were not met. The food was just decent but perhaps I ordered the wrong plate because my boyfriend seemed to really enjoy his meal. However,... More

To celebrate my partner's birthday, we went to Cucina Alessa. We shared the butternut squash ravioli as an appetizer. Spectacular! They're in a brown butter sauce with Parmesan cheese. My partner had eggplant parmigiana which reminded me of Christmas Eve at my aunt Maria's house when I was a child. I had angel hair pasta with white wine seafood sauce.... More
