My husband's favorite Italian in Laguna

My husband likes coming to this restaurant and often brings his clients in for dinners. The last time we went we were seated inside and it was about 5:30 on a weekday. The tables and chairs are so close together that you can barely get in and out of your seat. To me the food is good but nothing... read more

Our family ate at Alessa last week prior to attending a performance at the Laguna Beach Playhouse. We've always had a great experience at all of Alessandro's restaurants, and have met him on several occasions we had our rehearsal dinner at Mare down the street. We ate on the patio, with Jeffrey as our server. Service was terribly slow, we... More

First off, we had an excellent meal; my wife said her lamb was the best she's ever had. My black ink seafood pasta was good, but it's cuttlefish ink, not squid. I've had better, but no complaint here. As others have said, tables are indeed too close. I suppose it's handy for asking your neighbor about how they like their... More

Downtown Laguna Beach location and a diverse menu that includes fresh seafood with an Italian flair make this place a great option for dinner. Make reservations unless you don't mind a long wait to get in for your meal. Yes, seating is a bit to close for comfort and it is a loud restaurant, but most in Laguna Beach are... More

I normally LOVE Alessa in Laguna Beach. Been here many times. Last weekend? It was 4:30 pm (for goodness' sake) and the hostess said "do you have a reservation?" They don't take reservations for parties of less than six. She kept trying to place us next to a cramped wall, even though the restaurant was only about 25% full. Finally,... More

I loved the bread service, and I hate bread services. It was crisp on the outside, and spongy on the inside and perfect for the herb and oil drizzle. The staff was very friendly, and one of the servers approached me and suffered through my terrible Spanish. My lunch salad was just like the day crisp, clear, and beautiful.

Very good food, clean, service friendly and attentive. Seating a bit too close for my liking but certainly a place to return too among many other very good eating places.

My daughter and I visited Laguna Beach and at mid-afternoon we wanted to have something to eat. We searched Trip Advisor for top restaurants in Laguna Beach and the top rated ones were not open. We happened to be near Cucina Alessa and took a look at the menu. It looked great and we were fortunate to be offered an... More
