Best Italian in Laguna

We eat here every year when we are in Laguna Beach. It is right on the main shopping street. It can be a little crowded inside, as they put the tables too close together. We asked for a corner table. The pasta melts in your mouth, and the portions are reasonable. You don't have to waste food if... read more

came here with my wife for dinner. Waiter was extremely helpful and helped us with our choices . We started off with bread and pesto which was very nice, followed by the waiters recommendation . For me a braised lamb shoulder with pasta and for my wife a John Dory fish with vegetables and roasted potatoes. Both were absolutely fantastic.... More

Called for reservations and was told of about an 40 minute wait, no problem...when we called to make sure that it was ready we were told another half hour, OK we show up and still had another 30 minute wait. Finally seated and ordered dinner pasta was very good, I had one of their pizzas good but on the small... More

We had lunch here on the first day of our trip to Laguna Beach and were very impressed by the service and food. We shared a pizza and a large salad and both were excellent, prepared freshly and made to order. The wine recommendation was very good and the location very chilled and relaxing. We intended to go back on... More

Shopping in Laguna can wear you out so be sure to stop by this cute Italian place for some lunch. Food was great. Their portions are large so feel free to split some dishes. Service could use some improvement. It was very hard to get our waiter when he was needed and refills on the drinks were sparse to say... More

We have enjoyed many great meals in Alessa and yesterdays lunch was such a event. Yes, the restaurant is small and tight, but not uncomfortable; it is all apart of the experience of being apart of the Forest Avenue street scene. The wait staff is truly there to serve you. The menu is full of wonderful dishes. Make sure to... More

When we lived near Laguna Beach, some of our favorite meals invariable centered on Forest Avenue. This particular location seems to have a nack for attracting great Italian cuisine and Alessa doesn't disappoint. I was back in town after eight years and took a friend here for lunch last week. The menu is creative, varied and suitable for vegetarians and... More
