Fantastic mussels

I really enjoy mussels, in NorCal I was able to pick up some fresh batch and then boil them, here is SoCal I am so happy to find a place that finally makes muscles the right way (with the right beer)!

If you love mussels, this is your restaurant! We happened to visit on Monday which features "all you can eat mussels". For $26, you get bucket(s) of mussels, fries and a glass of beer or wine. We tried all of the different sauces and recommend the cream and garlic and the au blue cheese. Everything was delicious and the service... More

We were with a large group at the hopping eatery on Laguna Beach's Forest Avenue. The specialty of the house are the steamed mussels in a variety of broths. There is a full menu and bar. I like mussels as an appetizer but didn't want a full meal of them. I order the Belgian beef stew, there were mussels and... More

Some colleagues from work met there for dinner and had an amazing time. Food was excellent - actually, everything looked so good that we ordered different dishes and shared; I strongly recommend the mussels, fries and the sausages. We also enjoyed live jazz music and cocktails and could have a quick chat with service and owner, who were really nice.... More

Sight seeing in Laguna Beach and walking for most of the day, my son and nephew found a hidden treasure just a few feet below ground level. Even on a cloudy day, we were so comfy next to the heater. Indoor seating was available and the place was busy for 2:30 PM. The hostess and waiter welcomed us with smiles... More

Las Brisas was ridiculously full and so we decided to roam around - so happy we did!! The foie gras is made exactly right! Poelle... And melting! Amazing - curry mussels and the steak tartare were also above what we expected! Really delicious and so unpretentious! We loved it and we will be back for sure - unusual but true... More

We stopped here for a quick nosh and beer in the early afternoon on a Saturday. I recommend the Liegeois salad, much like Niciose but with bacon instead of tuna. The grilled foie gras was visually appealing as well as perfectly executed and delicious. But the best thing we had was the daily special: octopus carpaccio. Melt away in your... More

Our family loves bistro cuisine, especially classic fare served by Brussels Bistro. What's not to like about steak frites, or a big steaming pot of mussels and a cold beer? Things started well -- service was cordial, very helpful with respect to fielding some questions on the wine list as well. Kudos to the wine buyer, there are some really... More

Great selection of beers, and very friendly staff. Went for Valentine's Day (booked late) and every lady got a rose. High quality mussels, too. Definitely worth a fun visit.

Loved this place. My wife and I love mussels and this is definitely the place to go. The service was excellent. They had all the mussels we could eat with fries and a choice of a glass of wine or beer. We enjoyed a glass of the house white, which was rather good. We also brought in a bottle of... More
