nice italian with authentic items

This is a very nice, fairly expensive, and authentic italian restaurant. I say authentic because entrees such as bone marrow are not your typical fare. My mother loved it. I had a salad and a small pizza. They were fine but nothing special.

Great location for lunch or special occasion.Went for Mother's day with a group of 5--great service--great value--food was excellent---even had a solo guitarist playing some soft blues---perfect. I will definitely go back for lunch or dinner in the future

Even with all the new trendy eateries dotting downtown Lafayette, Postino still delivers the consistently best fine meal, attentive but unobtrusive service, in a warm, intimate, and sometimes romantic setting. For a special night out this is the place, and compared to others, it's actually a good value considering the quality.

I have been to the restaurant a number of times over the years. There are a number of quality restaurants in Lafayette and I can honestly say Postino's tries to raise the bar when it come to customer service. With all their customers you would think many would not get quality service but they seem to care about each and... More

May 7 From Mt Diablo Blvd this resto is hard to find. It is a former house hidden behind shrubs and trees. Parking is free and accessible. The interior is very inviting and tasteful. We sat in the main dining room. There are other side rooms for groups and meetings. Nearby is the open kitchen. The chef is doing a... More

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner to celebrate his birthday. We sat outside in their lovely garden, which seemed worlds away from busy Mt. Diablo Blvd. Our meal started with good, crusty bread and a spicy, garlicky butter spread. I had a very fresh, delicious green salad followed by the best Eggplant Parmigiana that I've ever had (and... More

A lovely old building with thatched roof, open floor plan and cozy nooks welcomed my family. The service was friendly and professional, although a bit slow between sitting and ordering a drink an between the first dish (Caesar salads) and the main course. The Short Ribs were tender and flavorful, the Lamb was tasty but the potato base lacked flavor... More

When we are in town we go there at least once a week. We go there as a couple, family, friends, and special occasions. Stewart Beatty is a top chef!

Everything on the menu of a good restaurant should be good and it wasn't. My rib eye was very good but my wife's pasta was tasteless. A cookie came with the meal and it was dry and also tasteless. The service was okay for a high end restaurant but nothing exceptional. The wine list was well chosen. A sign near... More

When you walk through the door you feel like you are in Tuscany. The food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. This is one of my favorite restaurants.
